Ruby Fields covers The Cure's ‘Lovesong' for Like A Version

The antidote to your blues is right here with Ruby Fields – and her cover of The Cure's 'Lovesong'. In her big solo return to the Like A Version studio since 2019, Ruby and her beautiful band brought a raw-edged indie sound to the beloved 1989 gothic-rock track. "I think I was scared of choosing something I didn't feel passionately about," Ruby said. "We all kind of sat together and talked about bands that we loved. The Cure was this really unanimous thing that came up." Ruby said that being invited back into the Like A Version studio was the biggest honour, and something she doesn't take for granted. "I'm so humbled by the fact that we got to come back and give it another crack," she said. "That our music still gets played enough, or means enough, or something. It's a really cool thing." Come back any time, Rubes. Check out more from Ruby Fields' return to the Like A Version studio below. BREAKING NEWS Foo Fighters FIRE band member in shock decision... 8 months after Dave Grohl's secret affair rocked the group

The Foo Fighters have fired a key band member in a shock decision eight months after Dave Grohl 's affair rocked the group. Drummer Josh Freese announced he had been abruptly sacked from the band in an Instagram post - following rumors he had been set to permanently replace the late Taylor Hawkins. He wrote: 'The Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they've decided 'to go in a different direction with their drummer.' No reason was given. 'Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band.' 'In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I've never been let go from a band, so while I'm not angry—just a bit shocked and disappointed. 'But as most of you know I've always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I'm fine. Stay tuned for my 'Top 10 possible reasons Josh got booted from the Foo Fighters' list.' Drummer Josh Freese - pictured last year with Grohl - announced he had been abruptly sacked from the band in an Instagram post - following rumors he had been set to permanently replace the late Taylor Hawkins. Freese, 52, joined the band in 2023 after the drug-related death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins at 50 in 2022.

Apple just dropped a new watch band and wallpapers for Pride 2025

Apple just announced its '2025 Pride Collection,' which includes a new Sport Band for Apple Watch, a dynamic watch face, and a dynamic wallpaper that will be available for iOS and iPadOS. The watch band is available to order from today and the watch face/wallpapers will drop in upcoming software updates. Apple has been releasing special edition watch bands for Pride Month for almost a decade now, each with a different take on the rainbow/multicolored design. This year's is pretty straightforward, making use of bold stripes of color just like actual pride flags. Recommended Videos The watch face has a shifting animation that circles through the different colors in a diagonal direction. Apple says the stripes shift to form numerals when a wearer lifts their arm to look at the watch — but if those numerals are showing on the little animation posted on the blog then, awkwardly, I can't see them. The iPhone and iPad versions of the background shift whenever you move, lock, or unlock your device. We'll get access to the wallpapers and watch face with watchOS 11.5, iOS 18.5, and iPadOS 18.5. There's no macOS version of the wallpaper but that isn't too surprising since previous years haven't included one either. The Sport Band is made out of silicon, with each color mixed separately and then compression-molded together. It's probably the best material choice for such a brightly colored design because it's so easy to keep clean and it doesn't really wear down. There's nothing worse than buying something for the color and seeing it get dirtied and faded within a year. And this probably is the brightest design Apple has released in the past few years — 2024's Braided Solo Loop had quite a lot of dark colors involved, while 2023's Sport Band was more understated with a white background. The two Pride Sport Loop editions from 2022 were almost pastel-colored compared to this year's design. If you like the look of it, you can order the watch band now for $49, and remember to look out for the wallpapers when the new updates drop. Please enable Javascript to view this content

Mel C breaks silence on Spice Girl reunion tour as she reveals who 'still needs convincing'

Spice Girls star Melanie C has confessed 'next year is a big year us' as she opened up on the potential of a reunion for the iconic group group's 30th anniversary of Wannabe's release Melanie C has admitted some are taking more convincing than others as the world gets excited about a Spice Girls reunion tour. Sporty Spice, 51, seemingly couldn't hide her excitement at the thoughts of a 30 year anniversary tour, but admitted not everyone is feeling the same buzz. It was claimed earlier this week that the iconic girl group were in talks to hit the road to mark 30 years since the release of Wannabe. And now Melanie C has revealed certain members are needing more "convincing" for the feat. ‌ ‌ It's thought Victoria is "90 per cent" sure to miss out yet again - just like she did on the group's sell-out tour in 2019. However, that doesn't appear to be going to stop Melanie and the other members. Speaking on the No Filter with Kate Langbroek podcast, Sporty said: "Next year is a big year for us and we have to acknowledge it in some way. "So we are talking about what that's going to look like and for me, Melanie, I know for sure, and Emma [Bunton], we'd be back on stage. But sometimes other people need a little bit more convincing." She revealed the prospect of the full ensemble reuniting would be the "best thing ever, ever, ever". And she also said "sometimes it feels like a duty to the world". "When we did the shows in 2019, it brought so much joy to so many people. Not everybody likes the Spice Girls but loads of people do. "We're living in this weird world right now. There's so much negativity and mad s**t going on. Let's all spice up our lives." ‌ And she joked that any reunion confirmation or secrets won't be ran by Melanie B, claiming "she can't keep her mouth shut". "So don't listen to Mel B because she doesn't know, because we're not telling her," she playfully jibed. Earlier in the week, it was claimed Band guru Simon Fuller was ready to meet with Geri to secure a deal for the reunuin. Geri and Simon are reportedly be back in touch and meeting in Miami, while Victoria has reportedly told pals she isn't considering going back to her music roots. 'There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying Yes," a source claimed to the Sun. 'Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas." However, they added: 'Unfortunately Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing."
