4-day Masula Beach Festival concludes on grand note

Vijayawada: The four-day Masula Beach Festival which started on June 5 ended on Sunday on a grand note with lakhs of visitors enjoying the fun and frolic. Youngsters, children and adults attended the beach festival and enjoyed the sports, games, adventure sports, food stalls, shopping and entertainment games. Adventure sports like speed boating and heliride are some more attractions at the Beach festival. The State government has organised the mega beach festival with fanfare to promote tourism and attract the tourists. The visitiors enjoyed watching the Beach Kabaddi, Beach volleyball and participating in the heliride, para gliding and boat riding in the sea. Several hundred stalls were installed to promote and sell the handicrafts, Kalamkari materials, APCO and handloom clothes, Kondapalli and Lepakshi toys etc. Food stalls are another major attraction at the Beach festivals as visitors enjoyed delicious dishes and food iteams like famous Bandar Laddu and Bandar Halva. Sea food curries were another special item served at makeshift stalls and hotels. Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra took special initiative to conduct the beach festival on a grand note. Tourism Minister Kandula Duresh, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P Narayana, Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad, officials of the revenue, police, cultural departments and others visited the festival and monitored the arrangements. Cultural programmes particularly the Kuchipudi dance performed by the dancers were the special attraction. The visitors enjoyed the adventures sports and toys arranged at the festival. Youngsters enjoyed the Giant wheel, Columbus, Train and others. Krishna District Collector DK Balaji and SP R Gangadhara Rao took special initiative to conduct the beast festival in a succesful manner without major untoward incidents. Special protection was made near the beach to prevent drowning and mishaps. Police and marine police teams and expert swimmers were put on alert at the beaches to check untoward incidents. Minister Ravindra said the State government was considering the option of conducting the Masula Beach Festival every year and thanked the government, district officials and the visitors for making the festival a grand success.

VIJAYAWADA: Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra on Friday said Manginapudi Beach is poised to become a prime destination for water sports. He was speaking after inaugurating the National Sea Kayaking Championship during the ongoing Masula Beach Festival. Competitors from 17 States participated in the national-level event, marking the festival's second day. Highlighting the beach's potential, the Minister said the State government is committed to developing it into a leading venue for water and beach sports, leveraging its natural coastal advantages. Earlier in the day, Minister Ravindra and Krishna District Collector DK Balaji launched helicopter joyrides, offering aerial views of the beach and nearby attractions. The Minister also inspected traffic and festival arrangements from the air. The evening saw vibrant cultural events including music, light-and-sound shows, and food courts serving multi-cuisine fare. Stalls featuring regional treats like Bandar Laddu and West Godavari specials drew large crowds, with thousands enjoying the festivities.
