Ryan Phillippe Isn't In I Know What You Did Last Summer
This post contains spoilers for I Know What You Did Last Summer. If you've seen the new I Know What You Did Last Summer, you were probably thrilled by all of the OG characters in it. But you also probably wondered — where is Ryan Phillippe? Jennifer Love Hewitt (Julie James) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (Ray Bronson) both reprised their roles in the sequel to the 1997 film — which initially centered on four teenage friends on the run from a serial killer. Even Sarah Michelle Gellar returned to play late beauty queen Helen Shivers in the form of a dream. However, Ryan's character, Barry Cox, who died in the original film, remained on ice. Well, according to producer Neal H. Moritz, Ryan's return almost happened, but with so many easter eggs in the film already, that "would've been pushing it." Neal told People, "It just got to be too much. We have a Barry Cox mention. He gets a shout-out. But, yeah, it started to feel like too many ideas." "But it is not for a lack of love of Ryan," he quickly added. "He is amazing. And I do think there is a very fun way to integrate Ryan into a sequel that I hope happens." For now, fans can catch Ryan on Motorheads, an Amazon Prime series about an unlikely group that bonds over their shared love of street racing. He's also set to appear in an upcoming drama, One Mile, its sequel, One More Mile, and the thriller The Patient. I Know What You Did Last Summer is out now in theaters.

Braehead owners team up to boost 'trading synergy'
The partnership will align the marketing, management and leasing of Braehead Shopping Centre, Braehead Arena and XSite, with the owners and their advisors working to deliver a consistent approach to the customer experience across the estate. Reporting to a board comprising SGS, TDL and XPE, the asset management and operational team includes Pradera Lateral, Savills, BWP Group, Lunson Mitchenall, BGP, and Metis. Their aim is to expand the "natural trading synergy between adjacent ownerships" which currently generate £6.3 billion in annual retail and leisure spending. 'The scale and diversity of Braehead Ambition's offer means the destination is more relevant to more consumers more of the time," said Claire Barber, chief executive of SGS UK Retail. "The partnership will position Braehead as a lifestyle choice, creating even higher levels of loyalty and engagement that will drive the commercial performance of the individual assets, and the wider social and economic prosperity of the area.' SGS completed a "landmark" reorganisation of its finances in May of last year that allowed it to return to standard governance and management after falling into administration in June 2020. The group, previously known as Intu SGS, came under the control of its creditors after Intu collapsed into administration from the weight of its debts during the Covid pandemic. XSite experienced similar difficulties in the wake of the pandemic but has since recovered to welcome 2.1 million people through its doors in 2024. Earlier this year XPE announced that it will invest more than £12 million in the site which will include the opening of the world's longest indoor e-karting track and e-sports venue, K1 Speed, later this year. Barry Cox, non-executive director at XPE, said Braehead Ambition is a shared commitment to offer consumers a unique destination whose "total is greater even than the sum of the parts". "As consumers are becoming ever more discerning as to where and how they spend their time and money, bringing together the strength of our individual assets to create the strongest destination of scale in Glasgow makes total sense for our customers, our business partners, and for Renfrew," he added. Located within the shopping centre, Braehead Arena is a 5,200-seat multi-purpose events and sports venue that serves as the official home of the Glasgow Clan ice hockey team. The team and the management of the arena were taken over by Irish broadcasting company TDL in May 2023. Stephanie Weir named as new Edinburgh Airport Commercial chief (Image: NQ)

Shopping centres that are more than just malls and that are part of a wider district including leisure are among the most successful in the UK. So it's interesting that on Monday SGS UK Retail, TDL Media and XPE launched 'a strategic partnership to align the marketing, management and leasing of Braehead Shopping Centre, Braehead Arena and XSite, the adjacent regional leisure destination'. Called Braehead Ambition, the partnership aims to 'add value for visitors, retailers and operators, working in collaboration to deliver a consistent and clear approach to the customer experience across the extensive Braehead estate'. Joined up thinking at a host of retail-meets-leisure destinations has turned into a recipe for success at Liverpool One, Bluewater, London Designer Outlet and more. As for Braehead, we're told that reporting to a board comprising SGS UK Retail, TDL Media and XPE Group Plc, the asset management and operational team includes Pradera Lateral, Savills, BWP Group, Lunson Mitchenall, BGP, and Metis. The owners and their advisors 'will work as one team to enhance and evolve the assets, and visitors, retailers, and operators can look forward to an even more enlivened, coherent and compelling experience, amplifying and expanding the natural trading synergy between adjacent ownerships'. Braehead Shopping Centre, XSite and The Arena cover 1,450,000 sq ft and attracting a combined 16.3 million visitors a year (which is expected to grow to 17.6 million by the end of 2026). 'Braehead Ambition will ensure Braehead is always the destination of choice for consumers, and for retail and leisure businesses looking to open in Glasgow,' the companies said. Claire Barber, CEO of SGS UK Retail, also said that 'the scale and diversity of Braehead Ambition's offer means the destination is more relevant to more consumers more of the time.
