Aylesford man facing 10 charges related to drugs, firearms: N.S. RCMP

An Aylesford, N.S., man is facing 10 charges related to drugs and firearms.
Kings District RCMP executed a search warrant Friday at a property on Morden Road in Aylesford as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
'During the search, which was led by Kings District Southwest Nova Street Crimes Enforcement Unit, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, cash, and unstamped tobacco,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP.
'Officers also located a firearm, which was found to be modified and not stored safely or properly. The firearm was also seized.'
Barry Rawding, 49, was arrested and charged with:
possession for the purpose of trafficking
proceeds of crime over $5,000
careless storage of a firearm
possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
unauthorized possession of a firearm
knowing possession of firearm is unauthorized
possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition
possession of unstamped tobacco ( Revenue Act )
) possession of unstamped tobacco ( Excise Act )
) possession of tobacco without taxes paid
Rawding was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear at Kentville provincial court on Sept. 3.
