Derian receives former minister Mawlawi, Lebanon's Ambassador to Morocco
Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian received at Dar al-Fatwa, former Minister Bassam Mawlawi who paid him a visit to extend Eid al-Fitr greetings. Lebanon to prepare for 2025 municipal and mukhtars elections with polling center inspections
Lebanon's caretaker Minister of Interior, Bassam Mawlawi, has announced a series of preparatory measures for the upcoming 2025 municipal and mukhtars elections. As part of these preparations, the minister has tasked governors and mayors with conducting thorough inspections of polling centers across the country. The inspections will focus on evaluating the readiness of polling stations and their capacity to handle voter turnout, as well as ensuring accessibility for individuals with special needs. However, the inspections will exclude certain southern villages that remain under Israeli occupation.

Interior Minister announces readiness of 2025-2026 electoral rolls
Caretaker Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi announced the completion of the preliminary 2025-2026 electoral rolls, in accordance with Law No. 44/2017. The Directorate General of Personal Status has disseminated copies to municipalities, district offices, and Lebanese diplomatic missions. Voters, both resident and expatriate, can review the lists from February 1, 2025, via or at designated offices. Requests for corrections must be submitted to the relevant registration committee by March 1, 2025. Digital copies are available for purchase at 1,000,000 LBP.
