Outlander Jamie Fraser's death 'sealed' in devastating season 8 clue

Outlander fans are concerned for Jamie Fraser after a first look at the eighth and final series was revealed Outlander fans were given a surprise when the trailer for the eighth and final series of the Starz hit was shown at San Diego Comic Con. ‌ The two and a half minute teaser focussed largely on Claire and Jamie Fraser's romance from their first meeting to their wedding and their reunion after 20 years apart. ‌ But it was the last 30 seconds that left fans concerned as Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) reveals he had a copy of Frank Randall's (Tobias Menzies) book. ‌ He tells Claire: "I've been reading Frank's book," and she asks what it reveals. Jamie replies: "War is coming to the backcountry and that James Fraser dies in it." ‌ Fans of the novels by Diana Gabaldon know that in Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, Frank's book is published posthumously and hints at Jamie's death when the Battle of King's Mountain takes place. Many will be hoping Frank made a mistake but another shot from the teaser hints Claire could be saying goodbye to her husband. In one moment, viewers are shown blood covering Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) hands. While she may just be covered in blood from helping injured soldiers, it could be Jamie's blood. ‌ Unexpectedly, fans have been quick to pick up on the death clue with one writing on Reddit: "FRANK BETTER BE F**KING WRONG." Another added: "I don't think I'll make it if they kill Jamie off in the final season." ‌ One fan posted: "The hands with blood is throwing me. My first guess would be that it's Claire at Kings Mountain, but there's no rings." However, many fans were mostly devastated they will have to wait until "early 2026" to see the final series. One fan shared: "I am NOT ready to say goodbye," while another added: "I'm already grieving!!!!!" ‌ Following the release of the teaser, Caitriona Balfe took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about what the show has meant to her. She penned: "Wow. I never thought we be so lucky to get this far... and now that we have I never thought we would have to say goodbye... what a journey... what a story. "Thank you to Diana, the fans, our crew, fellow cast and our writers and producers... everyone at Sony and Starz... here is our final poster."
