Back to the Future Cast Reunites to Find Lost Guitar

For four decades, a crucial piece of cinematic history has been missing. It's the iconic cherry red Gibson ES-345 that Marty McFly shredded during the legendary Enchantment Under the Sea dance scene in Back to the Future—an electrifying moment that sparked a generation of guitarists and cemented the instrument's place in pop culture. Now, as Back to the Future celebrates its 40th anniversary, the film's beloved cast has reunited for a real-life quest, partnering with guitar company Gibson to launch a global search for the missing guitar—an adventure so compelling, it's being chronicled in a new documentary, Lost to the Future. While Back to the Future has always played with time travel, one mystery has remained stubbornly stuck in the past: what happened to Marty McFly's iconic Gibson guitar? Now, with the spotlight on the franchise's 40th anniversary, the search has taken on new urgency, and familiar faces are stepping in to help. In a newly released video, stars Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly), Christopher Lloyd (Dr. Emmett 'Doc' Brown), Lea Thompson (Lorraine Baines), Harry Waters Jr. (Marvin Berry), and Huey Lewis (Battle of the Bands judge) lend their voices to the cause, rallying fans around the world to aid in the hunt. With the help of Gibson and its global community of musicians and collectors, the initiative aims to do what even a DeLorean couldn't: locate a long-lost relic of cinematic and musical history. 'Years ago, I was astonished to learn this beloved cinematic artifact had apparently disappeared into the space-time continuum,' said Bob Gale, co-creator of Back to the Future. 'Since we don't have a functioning time machine, this effort is probably our best chance to solve a decades-long mystery.' Mark Agnesi, Gibson's Director of Brand Experience, has been on this trail for years, long before it became a public campaign. 'After 16 years of searching, I'm so excited to get the entire guitar community together to help find the guitar that made me and so many other guitarists of my generation want to learn to play,' he said. Tips and potential sightings of the missing Gibson can be submitted via or by texting 1-855-345-1955. Adding a cinematic layer to the growing campaign, Gibson Films is set to release Lost to the Future—a documentary that digs into the emotional, cultural, and historical impact of a missing movie prop that has become a legend of its own. Directed by Doc Crotzer and narrated by Gibson's Mark Agnesi, the film offers an insider's look into the enduring connection between music and film through the voices of Back to the Future cast members Fox, Thompson, Lloyd, Waters Jr., and Lewis, along with franchise co-creator Gale. Rather than rehashing the well-known on-screen moment, the documentary shifts focus to behind-the-scenes stories, rare archival footage, and the underappreciated craftsmanship of vintage guitars. It follows the trail through dusty film prop warehouses, high-end guitar shops, and exclusive auction houses—all in pursuit of clues. For Crotzer, the project holds personal weight: 'This is the movie that made me want to be a filmmaker, and the scene that made me pick up a guitar for the first time,' he shared. More than a treasure hunt, Lost to the Future captures a shared longing for answers, for nostalgia, and for the chance to reconnect with a piece of history that helped shape generations of fans and musicians alike. For the uninitiated, Back to the Future is a classic sci-fi adventure film released in 1985 that follows the story of teenager Marty McFly, played by Fox. After being accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by eccentric scientist Doc Brown (Lloyd), Marty must navigate 1955 without altering the course of history, especially when he unintentionally interferes with his parents' first meeting. With time running out, he must ensure they fall in love and find a way back to the future, all while avoiding timeline disasters. The film blends comedy, action, and heart, and has become a beloved cultural icon, spawning two sequels and generations of fans. Sources: CNN, Gibson Gazette Read the original article on GEEKSPIN. Ord Valley Muster 2025 draws huge crowds as tickets to the Kimberley Moon Experience sell fast

Organisers are expecting a strong take-up in ticket sales for Saturday's Kimberley Moon Experience as visitors and Kununurra residents flock to Ord Valley Muster festival events all this week. The 10-day festival got off to an exuberant start on Friday with the free Horizon Power Party in the Park attracting a capacity crowd of 2000. Ord Valley Events Inc. vice-chair, Justine de Candia said the community-focused opening was a huge success. 'It's a beautiful night to be out to celebrate together as a community,' Mrs de Candia said on the night. 'Everyone is here to see and support the local talent we have and it's a celebration of everything that the East Kimberley represents, the people, the culture and the landscape. 'It's a huge crowd, it's incredible to think that 2000 people have walked through the gates when our population is only about 5000.'' The event began with the Solby Silver Search, which featured buried treasures in three sandpits for toddlers, kids and big kids, including bespoke diamond and silver jewellery by Kimberley Fine Diamonds. The audience then enjoyed performances by the East Kimberley College Band and Wild Brumby Line Dancers. That was followed with a choral performance by students from East Kimberley College and Dawul Remote Community School, and Battle of the Bands winner Cruise Control. The night ended with eight-piece Australian Defence Force rock outfit Band of the 1st Brigade. Ord Valley Events Inc, chair Sophie Cooke said there was a real buzz in town this week 'The energy and enthusiasm for the Ord Valley Muster is evident, and it's contagious,' she said. 'Party in the Park was huge, a wonderful community celebration. Sunday Sounds was a beautiful evening, a showcase of the incredible talent we have across the Kimberley, and it was a great recovery event after the sold-out rodeo on Saturday night. 'Ticket sales for the Kimberley Moon Experience are tracking as we expected and there's been a strong up-take in the last couple of weeks as people arrive in town.' The muster's premier concert will be headlined by indie musicians Lime Cordiale, award-winning Thelma Plum and Aussie singer/songwriter and former Hunters and Collectors frontman Mark Seymour & The Undertow. Festival highlights this week include Comedy in the Park on Tuesday, featuring Georgie Carroll, Ben Knight, Amy Hetherington and Mick Meredith, and Art in the Park on Wednesday evening which will feature a fashion show by Aboriginal artist Jaru Girl and the Wyndham Art Collective, plus music by Stellar Moon. The Ord Valley Muster is supported through Tourism WA's Regional Events Program. Last year it attracted close to 1500 people to the East Kimberley contributing millions of dollars to the local economy. There are still tickets available for most events including Kimberley Moon Experience on Saturday. Tickets are available from .

Connecticut Families: Guilford 10-year-old perseveres with music career after death of her father, a Yale police officer

GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The daughter of a fallen Yale police officer is persevering with her budding musical career in honor of her dad. Remy Adair, just 10 years old, wrote a song called 'See You Soon.' 9-year-old singer-songwriter provides comfort when performing her special songs The piece has taken on new meaning in the last two months since the tragic and unexpected loss of her father, longtime Yale Police Officer Greg Swiantek. 'I would be playing a song, and he'd be like, 'Yeah, keep doing that; that song is great,'' she remembered. 'I would just look over at him and smile and just keep playing my song.' Swiantek was the biggest cheerleader of his daughter's budding music career, which she wasn't sure she could continue after his death. But her mom urged her to maintain a sense of normalcy. Public wake for Yale officer who died during his shift held Tuesday She also supported her through a recent Battle of the Bands at Toad's Place in New Haven. 'I got up on that stage, and I had most of my friends there with me,' Remy said. 'Then, I didn't think about anything but that music.' 'The outpouring that came from the Yale community, so many people showed up, Greg's co-workers, Greg's friends,' her mom Michelle said. Singing 'See You Soon,' Remy won a round and then moved on to the finals, taking second place in the competition. 'Being runner-up was the most best thing that happened in my life so far,' Remy said. 'It's crazy to see her up on stage because when she's in her element, her moment, it's kind of like he's still there,' Michelle said, referring to her ex-husband, Greg. New Haven restaurant brews special beer in honor of Yale Police Officer Greg Swiantek Swiantek's belongings adorn Remy's studio. 'That's his honor guard hat, and that's just his police hat,' Remy said, pointing to her baby picture stuck on the inside of the hat. 'I'll never forget the day he cut it out and put it in the hat,' Michelle said. Remy inherited her musical talent from her father. 'He could pick up any instrument, any instrument at all, and play it,' Michelle said. The young girl will move forward bravely in his honor, thinking about the outpouring of love she's received and her bright future shaped by a loving dad. 'This resembles how hard he tried to do everything and how hard he tried to keep everyone safe, never unhappy,' Remy said.
