Amrita Singh and Vinod Khanna first met on the sets of the film Batwara . Right from their first meet-up, Amrita reportedly fell head-over-heels in love with him. Sources claim that she was already engaged to former head coach of the India national cricket team Ravi Shastri. However, after some time, the two broke off their engagement and parted ways.
Amrita was 12-years younger than Khanna at the time, and was madly in love with her. The two began dating, and their relationship turned series with speculations soon buzzed about their marriage plans. However, everything was going hunky-dory until, Amrita's mother, Rukhsana Sultana intervened and pointed fingers at their 12-year age gap and Khanna's divorce with his wife Geetanjali.
