Cameroonian talent Christian Kofane passes Bayer Leverkusen medical

Sport Bild reports that 18-year-old Cameroonian striker Christian Kofane has passed his Bayer 04 Leverkusen medical. One of the Bundesliga outfit's summer transfer targets is thus set to be unveiled shortly. The teenage talent will sign five-year-contract, per the tabloid. Whereas previous reports suggested that Kofane will be immediately be loaned back out to his Spanish Segunda division club, new developments in newly appointed head coach Erik ten Hag's squad planning render it likelier that the player will remain in Germany. Advertisement The recent decision to retain the services of Czech striker Patrik Schick and shop Nigerian forward Victor Boniface for a sale leaves room for Kofane in the squad. A loan deal could nevertheless still be in the cards given that Kofane doesn't have a great deal of experience at a higher level. Germany's red company team appear set to acquire Kofane via a €5m release clause in his current contract. Leverkusen fended off several other suitors for the teenage prospect's services. Ranking the five favourites to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United

Alejandro Garnacho has been informed to find a new club with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim keen to offload the winger. The decision comes after Garnacho's public unhappiness at his role in the club's Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Garnacho scored 11 goals and provided nine assists for Manchester United this season, but question marks over his attitude and role in Amorim's preferred system have led to a decision on his future. 'I don't know what is going to happen in the future' 💬 Ruben Amorim on Alejandro Garnacho's future at Manchester United 🔴 — Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) May 26, 2025 Several sides expressed interest in the Argentine in January and there are expected to be suitors again. For those interested in the latest online odds and betting bonuses, we've ranked the five favourites to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United this summer. Erik ten Hag's appointment at Bayer Leverkusen has opened the door to potential interest in several Manchester United names. Welcome to Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Erik ten Hag! 👊⚫️🔴 — Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) May 26, 2025 Ten Hag gave Garnacho his debut at Old Trafford, following his fine performances for the academy sides. Leverkusen are also likely to be in the market for attacking options, as Florian Wirtz nears an exit. The German is expected to sign for Liverpool in a club-record deal, a transfer that could arm Leverkusen with the funds to get a deal done. Juventus are another side searching for firepower from wide, with the Italians set to decline the chance to sign loanee Francisco Conceicao on a permanent deal. The Serie A side have made plenty of mistakes in the market of late, allowing highly-rated prospects in Dean Huijsen and Matias Soule to leave for modest fees. A re-injection of potential and promise is on the agenda for the Bianconeri this summer. Chelsea were linked with signing Garnacho in January and enquired into the conditions of a potential deal. The Blues are not short of depth in wide areas, but with Mykhailo Mudryk's future uncertain and Jadon Sancho's loan not likely to be made permanent, another addition could be sought. Chelsea have focused on emerging talent in recent windows and the 20-year-old Garnacho fits the brief. Garnacho spent five seasons in the Atletico Madrid academy before his decision to move to England. The Spanish side has kept a close eye on his development with Diego Simeone understood to be a huge admirer. Garnacho's direct style and willingness to work appear well-suited to Simeone's demands, while the winger could take encouragement from how former teammate Antony has thrived since leaving Old Trafford for La Liga. After a tough time in Manchester, Antony has been a revelation on loan at Real Betis. No Manchester United player has more goal-creating actions than Alejandro Garnacho (7) in the Europa League this season. Has played a huge part in the side's good form on the continent. 👏 — Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) May 15, 2025 Napoli are the frontrunners to sign Garnacho having first expressed interest in January. The Italian champions are preparing to return to the Champions League next season and are seeking further firepower. 🚨 Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is set to meet with Manchester United over a possible deal for Alejandro Garnacho. (Source: i paper) — Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) May 26, 2025 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's winter sale to Paris Saint-Germain and the expected exit of Victor Osimhen will provide substantial funds for Antonio Conte to spend. Napoli signed Scott McTominay from Manchester United last summer and the midfielder went from unwanted asset to Serie A MVP inside 12 months. Could Garnacho follow a similar path in Naples? Liverpool make approach for Bayer Leverkusen forward Florian Wirtz

The club have held an interest in the 22-year-old playmaker for some time and his anticipated exit from the deposed Bundesliga champions was expected to spark a scramble for his signature. At your service! 🫡 — Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) May 21, 2025 Manchester City and Bayern Munich were also said to be in the running for one of the major stars in Germany but it was reported the Premier League club cooled their interest due to the rising cost of the deal, while Leverkusen are reluctant to sell to one of their domestic rivals. Liverpool now appear to have moved to the front of the queue for the £125million-rated forward after opening talks with the German club. That has undoubtedly been helped by the fact they had already been in contact with Leverkusen regarding Jeremie Frimpong, triggering the right-sided utility player's £30m release clause and holding a medical this week.
