Cameroonian talent Christian Kofane passes Bayer Leverkusen medical
Sport Bild reports that 18-year-old Cameroonian striker Christian Kofane has passed his Bayer 04 Leverkusen medical. One of the Bundesliga outfit's summer transfer targets is thus set to be unveiled shortly. The teenage talent will sign five-year-contract, per the tabloid.
Whereas previous reports suggested that Kofane will be immediately be loaned back out to his Spanish Segunda division club, new developments in newly appointed head coach Erik ten Hag's squad planning render it likelier that the player will remain in Germany.

The recent decision to retain the services of Czech striker Patrik Schick and shop Nigerian forward Victor Boniface for a sale leaves room for Kofane in the squad. A loan deal could nevertheless still be in the cards given that Kofane doesn't have a great deal of experience at a higher level.
Germany's red company team appear set to acquire Kofane via a €5m release clause in his current contract. Leverkusen fended off several other suitors for the teenage prospect's services.

Coco Gauff responds to Aryna Sabalenka over ‘not fair' French Open final claim
Coco Gauff said Aryna Sabalenka's suggestion that she would have lost the French Open final to Iga Swiatek was not 'fair' after the American won her first Roland Garros title by beating the World No 1. In difficult, windy conditions, Gauff fought from a set down to defeat Sabalenka 6-7 6-2 6-4 and win her second grand slam title on the Paris clay. However, a disgruntled Sabalenka criticised her own performance, in which she made 70 unforced errors, and said 'it was the worst final I have ever played'. Advertisement Sabalenka had defeated Swiatek in the semi-finals, to end the Pole's 26-match winning run at Roland Garros, but could not get the job done as she lost to Gauff for her second grand slam final defeat in a row. 'That hurts,' Sabalenka said. 'Especially when you've been playing really great tennis during the whole week, when you've been playing against a lot of tough opponents, Olympic champion [Qinwen Zheng], Iga and then you go out, and you play really bad. 'Like I think Iga - if Iga would [have] won [against me] another day, I think she would go out today and she would get the win. It just hurts. Honestly hurts. I've been playing really well, and then in the last match, go out there and perform like I did, that's hurt.' To add to an extraordinary press conference, Sabalenka added: 'She was hitting the ball from the frame. Somehow magically the ball lands in the court. It felt like a joke, honestly, like somebody from above was there laughing, like, 'let's see if you can handle this'.' Barcelona star set for €12 million exit
An altogether noteworthy update on the incoming departure of Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati has this weekend surfaced online. This comes amid claims that, contrary to previous speculation, the 22-year-old's summer exit will come with the certainty of bringing a permanent close to his Blaugrana stint. This comes after AS Monaco opened talks with their Barcelona counterparts, over bringing the winger to Ligue 1 for next season. Initially, the understanding was that as much would come by way of a loan, featuring an option to buy. THREE Liverpool stars told they will be leaving
Liverpool are gearing up for a productive transfer window. They have already secured the signing of Dutch international Jeremie Frimpong - who joins from Bayer Leverkusen. Plans are in place for Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz too - with the Reds hoping to tie up those deals quickly. Adding just those three players will cost the club in the region of £200m - and that's before we consider a new centre-forward or midfielder.
