Popular Indian cuisine restaurants in West Lothian scoop trio of awards
Two Indian restaurants in West Lothian which are under the same management have scooped a hat-trick of industry awards.
The Bayleaf restaurants in both Bathgate and Livingston were recognised with the accolades at the recent Oceanic Scottish Curry Awards 2025.
Bayleaf Livingston scooped the Curry Restaurant of the Year award for South East Scotland.
The eatery in Uphall Station Road in Pumpherston has been a mainstay in the local community for 13 years, but there's no hint of bad luck as the business has made a bit of a habit of being in the running for awards in recent years.
Most recently, at the end of last year the Bayleaf were double winners at The Scottish Asian Food and Curry Awards 2024.
The Bayleaf brand operates at three locations in Scotland – the two dine-in restaurants in West Lothian and a takeaway.
Bayleaf Bathgate only opened in late 2022 but has made a remarkable impact on the town's gastronomy offerings since it emerged in the town's North Bridge Street.
It won the Emerging Curry Restaurant of the Year award for the whole of Scotland.
And to round of the trio of awards, Sagar Bhandari, who manages both restaurants was named as Manager of the Year.
The Oceanic Scottish Curry Awards 2025 ceremony was held on April 14 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Glasgow.
The business operates a third site, Bayleaf Express a takeaway in Edinburgh, which also focuses on high-quality Indian cuisine with the same commitment to excellence.
