21 PH gov't officials stranded in Israel arrive in PH
The 21 Filipino government officials who got stranded in Israel amid tensions with Iran arrived in Manila on Saturday morning. The officials — 17 local government officials who attended an agricultural technology training and four dairy industry specialists of the Department of Agriculture — were met at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 by Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla. Of the 17 officials, two were congressmen, nine mayors, four vice mayors, and two regional directors. It was an emotional homecoming for the stranded officials, as seen in a video taken by GMA Integrated News reporter Bea Pinlac. Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss earlier said the 21 Filipinos were attended to by the Israeli government. "All of them have been taken care of by the Israeli government, and we are also looking for ways to send them back to the Philippines. This is our responsibility and our commitment… I can tell you that they are getting fed, lodging, and whatever they need. We are catering for, and I know that they are doing fine. Of course, it's not a pleasant situation,' Fluss said. Agriculture Secretary Francisco "Kiko" Tiu Laurel Jr. earlier said the stranded Filipinos were fearful as their hotels were bombed. The officials took a land trip to Jordan, then went to Dubai for the flight back to Manila. —KG, GMA Integrated News

Woman nabbed for online sexual exploitation of children, including daughter
A 38-year-old woman was arrested in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte last Wednesday for allegedly selling lewd photos and videos of three children, including her own daughter. The woman was arrested by authorities in her residence on Wednesday afternoon, where authorities said they found a "showroom" where she would make the children—her 13-year-old daughter and the daughters, aged 13 and eight, or her live-in partner—dance and perform "live shows" for customers, mostly located overseas. Authorities said they found materials saved in her gadgets, for which she would charge customers thousands for access. 'Sa kaniyang residence mismo ay may ginawa siya na showroom kung saan niya ine-entertain 'yung mga foreign nationals na mga customers niya at doon niya ipinapasayaw or ipinapakita itong mga tatlong minor victims na na-rescue natin,' a representative of the Buenavista Municipal Police Station said in a report by Bea Pinlac on GMA's '24 Oras Weekend' on Sunday. (She made a showroom in her residence where she would entertain her foreign customers by showing the three minors, whom we have rescued, and have them dance.) The woman is now in the custody of the Buenavista Municipal Police, and is set to face charges of child abuse, human trafficking, and online sexual abuse and exploitation of minors. She has claimed innocence. The police said they are also investigating the woman's live-in partner, and looking deeper if he is also connected to the scheme. — Jon Viktor D. 65-year old masseuse allegedly killed by man with prior homicide charges in QC
A 65-year old masseuse was allegedly strangled to death by a man with three prior homicide charges in Quezon City. In Bea Pinlac's Sunday report on '24 Oras Weekend,' the 65-year-old victim went to a residential compound on the midnight of May 13 after the suspect hired her for a massage. After some time, CCTV footage showed the suspect outside the compound pushing a kariton or cart, containing several garbage bags. When the suspect returned to the compound, the cart was empty. Garbage collectors found the victim's body stuffed inside a trash bag the following day. According to police, the suspect and the victim had an argument after the man allegedly was not satisfied with the massage service. The cops added the suspect was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, the victim's sister said she could not believe that the first time she would see her sibling after seven years was at her funeral. She said she will pursue justice for her slain family member. More than a week after the victim's body was discovered, authorities managed to arrest the 47-year-old suspect who went into hiding in Biñan, Laguna. The arresting team said the victim's bag and drug paraphernalia were found in the suspect's possession. Authorities also confiscated the suspect's kariton, which seemed to be newly painted. Investigation revealed that the suspect is currently facing homicide charges for allegedly killing a 61-year-old woman in Leyte in 2018 over an argument concerning a parcel of land. It was also learned the suspect was previously detained in Muntinlupa City for allegedly killing two other people. The suspect admitted the victim went inside his house but refused to give further details. The police said the suspect told them that he was in shock and killed the victim out of anger. The suspect is under police custody and is facing murder charges. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
