MrBeast offers studio tour to his fans, but on a condition that will cost them Rs 85 lakh
Popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has sent a frenzy among his fans after making a bold fundraising move tied to his charitable organisation, Beast Philanthropy. In a recent announcement, Donaldson, 27, offered an opportunity for fans to get a rare tour of his sprawling production studio in North Carolina. However, there's a hefty condition: only those who donate $100,000 (Rs 85 lakh, approximately) to 'Beast Philanthropy' will be eligible to attend the event. Sharing the announcement on X, MrBeast wrote, 'Want a tour of the city for Beast Games season 2 and all the massive sets we're building?? I'm going to personally show around people who donate $100,000 to Beast Philanthropy! I have some big charity projects I want to fund, so I think it's a win/win.' The exclusive experience is limited to the first 40 people who donate to the charity, each of whom can bring up to two guests. The three-day VIP event, scheduled for June 27 to 29, gives access to an immersive look into the production of Beast Games Season 2, a private Q&A with MrBeast's crew, and a tour of the charity's food distribution center. I have some big charity projects I want to fund so I think it's a win/win ❤️ — MrBeast (@MrBeast) June 2, 2025 While MrBeast has sparked admiration for its philanthropic goal, it's also stirred debate over the steep donation requirement. 'Would love to be on one of your beast games! I also am starting a charity to help the homeless. So it never hurts to ask. Don't ask and I'd never get on beast games! May you be blessed for helping others!' a user wrote. 'I could donate 10 bucks but there's no way to donate $100,000. By the way, my 12-year-old son is a massive fan,' another user commented. 'Looks like He needs funding to cover his previous losses,' a third user reacted. 'Haha, $100,000 for a tour? I'll start saving my pennies—see you in about 1,000 years, MrBeast! Cool way to support charity, though!' a fourth user wrote. MrBeast's new fundraising event comes after Amazon Prime Video renewed 'Beast Games' for two more seasons. The reality show, where 1,000 contestants compete for a massive $5 million prize (Rs 50 crore, approximately), has become a massive success. In just 25 days, it racked up over 50 million views, making it Prime Video's most-watched unscripted series.

‘Étoile' editor Tim Streeto on reuniting with the Palladinos for the Prime Video ballet series
Étoile editor Tim Streeto was more than happy to run it back with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino after their successful collaboration on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel led to three Emmy Award nominations for Streeto and years of acclaim. 'There was scuttlebutt that they were planning another show, and so when they asked me to come on, I was thrilled,' Streeto tells Gold Derby as part of our Meet the Experts: TV Editors panel. More from GoldDerby 'Sentimental Value' hailed as a 'masterpiece,' the 'best movie' at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival 'The Daily Show' editor Cathy Trasborg on letting Trump supporters 'reveal themselves' in the edit: 'We just let them play out' 'Beast Games' editor Mack Hopkins on the scene that was inspired by 'Dunkirk' Streaming now on Prime Video, Étoile focuses on Jack McMillan (Mrs. Maisel Emmy winner Luke Kirby), the artistic director of the New York Metropolitan Ballet, and Geneviève Lavigne (Charlotte Gainsbourg), the interim artistic director of Le Ballet National in Paris, and their attempts to resuscitate interest in the art form by switching companies. The meta pull of Étoile is that Sherman-Palladino, who was classically trained in ballet as a child, is trying to do the same thing for ballet with the series itself. For Streeto, separating Étoile from Mrs. Maisel was table stakes. 'I try to approach everything I'm starting as a clean slate,' he explains. 'Even when I've worked with people before, I think having a fresh look at everything is the best approach.' On Étoile, Streeto's leaning into the established world of ballet proved valuable, although he tried to avoid recreating past depictions of the art form whenever possible. 'I watched a lot of contemporary ballet on YouTube, just because I'm not fairly familiar with ballet,' he says. 'I also relied on our choreographer, Marguerite Derricks, and Amy herself.' What he learned is that the stereotype of ballet on screen as being 'dainty, pretty, and precious' didn't tell the entire story. 'What I saw when I was on set watching them and talking to the dancers, and then just the scenes that we had with the dancers, is just how strong and physically powerful these people are,' he says. 'Some of them are tiny in stature, but their strength is just unbelievable, and their flexibility. It's so physical and requires so much strength and dedication.' Amazon is doubling down on MrBeast despite controversy. It shows how hot creators have become in Hollywood.
Amazon can't get enough of Jimmy " MrBeast" Donaldson. The streamer has renewed his competition series "Beast Games" for two more seasons, undeterred by the controversies surrounding the hit show. It illuminates the power of YouTube's biggest star — and the growing influence digital creators are amassing in Hollywood. The renewal isn't entirely surprising given the show's success. "Beast Games" drew 50 million views in 25 days and is Amazon's most-watched unscripted series of all time. However, the show was also poorly reviewed by critics and spurred complaints about the filming conditions and injuries. Donaldson is being sued by former contestants as well. Business Insider previously reported that before "Beast Games" aired, there were worries inside Amazon. The show was meant to kick-start the streamer's efforts to sell ads on Prime, and some insiders were concerned the controversies could hamper negotiations. The two-season renewal suggests those fears were unfounded. "Beast Games" was also expensive to make. Amazon paid Donaldson $100 million for season one, according to a pitch deck obtained by BI. But the YouTuber said he went over budget and lost tens of millions of dollars, which came out of his pocket. The Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon had made at least $100 million in profit on the first season, and that Donaldson asked for more than $150 million for each of the two subsequent installments. 'Beast Games' was a tipping point in Hollywood Going into business with a creator can be risky, but Amazon's re-up shows it ultimately paid off. And in this case, it's looking like a win for the creator economy at large. "Beast Games" emerged as a tipping point in Hollywood, as streamers and studios subsequently ramped up the search for more influencer-led programming. That interest is piquing as creators solidify their status as a dominant cultural force and YouTube reigns supreme on TV screens. Netflix has licensed content from kid-focused YouTube creators like Ms. Rachel. It's also eyeing video podcasts, as BI exclusively reported, and the company confirmed on its latest earnings call. Some of Netflix's talks have been for potential unscripted shows involving creators, with the streamer considering riffs on reality competition giants like "Survivor" and "The Bachelor," BI previously reported. Max has also jumped into the creator game, and is currently airing " Paul American," a reality show starring fraternal YouTube duo Logan and Jake Paul. Before "Beast Games," a few past efforts to bridge the gap between Hollywood and the creator economy had faltered. Donaldson himself said he saw "Beast Games" as a bellwether test. "Creators don't have a good rep when it comes to doing stuff on streaming platforms," he said earlier this year on the "Diary of a CEO" podcast. "If I fail, it's over; no streaming platform is ever going to touch a YouTuber ever again."

Amazon renews MrBeast's 'Beast Games' for 2 more seasons after the $10 million game show smashes records
Amazon is doubling down on one of its biggest hits. "Beast Games," the high-stakes reality competition created and hosted by YouTube star MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, has been renewed for seasons two and three on Amazon Prime Video, the company announced Monday. "Our goal was to deliver the biggest, boldest competition series ever created, and the response has exceeded every expectation," said Jeff Housenbold, CEO of MrBeast Industries. "' Beast Games' resonated with fans around the world, and that's a testament to the creativity of Jimmy and the entire Beast team. We're grateful to Amazon for their continued partnership, and we're excited to raise the bar even higher in the next two seasons," Housenbold added. "Beast Games," which premiered in December 2024, drew 50 million viewers in just 25 days, according to Amazon. The series pits 1,000 contestants against each other in a series of intense physical, mental, and social challenges, all for the chance to win a $10 million cash prize — the largest ever awarded on a competitive reality TV show. The first season ended with Player 831, Jeffrey Randall Allen, taking home the grand prize after selecting the correct briefcase in a final game of chance. That last twist doubled the original $5 million prize. In March, the show opened casting for season two. According to a casting call, the requirements to compete included an age limit of at least 18 and possession of a valid passport through January 2026. Applicants were also required to answer a list of questions in a one-minute horizontal video. In December, Business Insider revealed the terms contestants agreed to for the preliminary round of "Beast Games." The documents included a release form and a contestant questionnaire form. Contestants also agreed to certain protocols, like giving up consent to the use of hidden cameras and recording devices. In total, "Beast Games" broke 44 Guinness World Records during production, including most participants in a single reality show season, most people eliminated in one episode, and the most money ever won in a single episode of a competition show. MrBeast, 27, is known for his massive giveaways and over-the-top stunts, which helped him amass over 332 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel — more than any individual creator in the world.
