Jelly Roll Lands A New Bestseller With Some Help From ‘American Idol'

Jelly Roll's 'Unpretty' debuts in the top 10 after American Idol duet with winner Jamal Roberts ... More while fellow single "Liar" also soars. CLEVELAND, OHIO - AUGUST 3: Jelly Roll performs during WWE SummerSlam 2024 at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo) Jelly Roll's latest album Beautifully Broken has already spent months on the Billboard charts, and fans are still heavily consuming the country and rock project. The full-length earns a bit of a boost this week after the multi-genre singer-songwriter appeared on American Idol and dueted with Jamal Roberts, who went on to win the twenty-third iteration of the reality staple. The two musicians delivered collaborative renditions of two of Jelly Roll's tracks from his latest release, and thanks to that high-profile performance, one of the featured tunes has become yet another top 10 hit for the Grammy-nominated superstar. 'Unpretty' launches on a pair of Billboard rankings this frame. The track, taken from Beautifully Broken but which has not yet been pushed as a proper single, debuts at No. 8 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. That new placement gives Jelly Roll his fourteenth career top 10 showing on that list. The same cut has been classified by Billboard as both rock and country, qualifying it for not only the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, but also the Country Digital Song Sales tally. That second list is a bit more competitive this time around, so Jelly settles for launching the track at No. 12, collecting his twenty-third career appearance in the process. In both instances, 'Unpretty' earns the third-highest debut on the two charts. On the rock side, Jelly lands behind 'God Is a Weapon' by Falling in Reverse and Marilyn Manson (No. 4) and 'Let You Fade' by Linkin Park (No. 6). Over on the country list, American Idol season 23 runner-up John Foster debuts in second place with 'Tell That Angel I Love Her,' while 'What I Want' by Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae kicks off its run at No. 10. Jelly Roll and Roberts paired 'Unpretty' with 'Liar,' which was released last summer as a single from Beautifully Broken. That track rejoins the Country Digital Song Sales tally at No. 3 and rises to the runner-up spot on the rock-only list. Sales of 'Unpretty' grew by more than 1,800% from one week to the next, according to Luminate, and that gain is tied directly to American Idol. Purchases of 'Liar,' while greater, increased by just under 200% during the same timeframe.

Jelly Roll Delivers His ‘Heart of Stone' & an ‘Amen' With Shaboozey at the 2025 ACM Awards

Jelly Roll was living the dream on Thursday (May 8) when he performed 'Heart of Stone,' the third single from his sophomore album, Beautifully Broken, at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards held at at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas. 'I'm wide awake and I'm dreamin'/ Wonderin' where and when I fell apart/ Oh, I fell apart/ I had enough of my demons/ Angels only meet you where you are,' he sang emotionally, his voice powerful, during the chorus from the track about some very dark days in his life. As he belted out the chorus, Bunnie XO, who is married to the country star, sang along in the audience. 'And I'm in the dark/ Least for now, Lord, I ain't losin' hope/ That somehow you can make a heart of gold/ From this heart of stone.' More from Billboard Here Are the 2025 ACM Awards Winners: Full List (Updating) Kendrick Lamar Leads 2025 BET Awards Nominees With 10 Nods Prince Royce to Sing at TelevisaUnivision's Upfront in New York As the tune ended, Jelly pointed to the heavens and mouthed, 'Thank you.' The cameras then shifted to Shaboozey, who stood alone as he began his new single, the two men's collaboration 'Amen,' off the 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' singer's Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going. After the chorus, Jelly joined in as he walked through the crowd, giving Wynonna Judd a hug before he made his way onto the stage next to 'Boozey to finish the upbeat tune as Keith Urban and Nicole kidman sang along from the audience. At the end of the Jelly and Shaboozey's duet, the 'Need a Favor' singer turned to his song partner, who turns 30 on Friday (May 9), and said, 'Happy birthday, 'Boozey!' before giving him a big hug. Jelly Roll — who is nominated for entertainer of the year, male artist of the year and album of the year for his Billboard 200 chart-topper Beautifully Broken — spoke about 'Heart of Stone' while appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show in April. 'I love the lyrics of this song,' he explained to the host, specifically pointing out the lyrics to the second verse. 'When I hear 'Lord, can you hear me? I'm shackled in these chains/ I'm haunted by the lies of every time I said I'd change.' Wow, that just reminds me of all the times that I went and looked in the mirror and said, 'I'm gonna be different today' and I wasn't different that day. … It still gives me goosebumps and it makes me want to stand up and do something about it. It makes me want to quit being a man that puts it off and start being a man that does it right now.' Country icon and 16-time ACM Awards winner Reba McEntire is the host of the show; it is her 18th time helming the ceremony. The show streamed live on Amazon's Prime Video. The ACM Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries and Billboard parent company Penske Media. Donald Trump tells followers to go see country singer Warren Zeiders

For seemingly no reason, Donald Trump hopped on Truth Social on Monday morning to praise country singer Warren Zeiders. "Warren Zeiders is FANTASTIC. Go to his concerts, and ENJOY! DJT," America's 47th President shared with his followers. Zeiders, who has a growing fan base, scored a Number One hit with his song Pretty Little Poison last year. He is probably better known for recently going viral for berating and then tossing out a fan who gave him the finger at his concert, remarking, "F**k me? F**k you, dude." A spokesperson for Zeiders said the singer and the President had not had any previous communications. However, as reported by Rolling Stone, Zeiders later shared on his socials that he had been a guest on One Nation, the Sunday evening talk show on Fox News. Trump is an avid Fox viewer, and seeing him on the show alongside two men known for playing pompous intellectuals, Kelsey Grammer and Jordan Peterson, must have made an impression. On Monday, the singer posted an open invitation for Trump to attend a concert himself. Zeiders is currently on his own US tour, and is set to team up with Jelly Roll this coming autumn on his Beautifully Broken tour. His latest album, Relapse, Lies, & Betrayal, is out now.
