Major retailer launches £30 skincare box with £113 of trending products including Lumene and Byoma
SKINCARE fans have been racing to pick up Boots' new beauty box that has been branded as "incredible value". The £30 set includes £113 worth of products, with skincare favourites from Byoma, Beauty of Joseon and The Inkey List. Beauty boxes are a great way to try out new products or stock up on favourites, and the Boots Fresh Faced Skincare Set has everything needed for a routine refresh. Six out of the nine products inside are full-size, including Lumene's Glow Boost Essence, which is worth £34 (more than the entire beauty box) when purchased separately. Beauty of Joseon is the Korean beauty brand that's been all over social media lately, and shoppers will receive its popular Matte Sun Stick. There are three cleansers inside the new beauty box, including The Inkey List's popular Oat Cleanser and Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser. E.l.f's Holy Hydration Cleansing Balm is also inside (worth £11), and the cleanser has racked up thousands of five-star ratings on the Boots website. 1 The solid balm melts away make-up while hydrating the skin, with a formula made up of hyaluronic acid, ceramides and peptides. Byoma's Brightening Serum Pixi's Vitamin C Serum (worth £26). The products also come with a stylish checked print washbag that's ideal for storing away beauty essentials. The £30 set only has a few reviews currently, all of which are five-star. One shopper wrote: "This set is excellent value for money if you want to try some new brands and level up your skincare routine, and the bag itself is very good quality, plus it would make an excellent gift." Another added: "The bag included is very good quality that will last years and I got lots of products for a great price. I bought this for myself to try some new products but it would also make an excellent gift." Shoppers caused mass sell-outs on the Boots website earlier in the month after the retailer launched its Luxury Haircare Beauty Box. Featuring £219 worth of products for £45, the haircare edit didn't stay in stock for long. Lookfantastic also released a new beauty box recently, and the Trending Beauty Box comes with nine viral favourites worth £110 for £40.

Belif Is The Korean Skincare Brand That's Replacing All My Other Products
All linked products are independently selected by our editors. If you purchase any of these products, we may earn a commission. You don't need me to tell you that Korean skincare is in a league of its own. For years, brands like Dr. Jart+, Beauty of Joseon, and CosRx (snail mucin, anyone?) have reigned supreme among skincare enthusiasts and dermatologists alike. And there's good reason for that. Rather than wrecking skin with harsh acids and strong retinoids that often irritate, K-beauty prioritises a healthy skin barrier, focusing on hydration, repair and gentle exfoliation. While there are heaps of Korean skincare brands to choose from these days, only one has cut through the noise lately. If the name rings a bell, it's probably because the brand has been available at Sephora in the States for a while now. In fact, it's pretty well-known — some might say famous — over there. When it launched last September, The Aqua Bomb Eye Gel, £25, was the number one bestseller at the retailer, beating brands like Glow Recipe and innisfree to name a few. Now that the brand has officially landed at Beauty Bay, Amazon, Glam Touch and Skin Cupid, I had to see what all the hype was about — and I think I might have found my new favourite skincare brand. I'm serious: belif has just replaced most of the skincare products in my routine. It's that good. Here's my review of a handful of products in the bursting collection, including the two I recommend to everyone I meet. belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb, £32 This moisturiser has seriously saved my skin lately — it's officially earned a spot in my hall of fame. Before this, I was using a £70 moisturiser that just wasn't cutting it. My skin felt tight after applying it, and even though it had a light texture, I'm convinced it was exacerbating my hormonal acne. By contrast, this one has a much more cushiony feel, and it's exactly what my dull, dehydrated skin was crying out for. The key ingredients — moisturising glycerin and squalane, skin-strengthening peptides and repairing ceramides — work together to heal and maintain the skin barrier (the outermost layer that locks in moisture and keeps bacteria out). Despite all that goodness, it's featherlight and sinks in within moments, so I can go straight in with sunscreen or makeup without it pilling. I'm always surprised by the glow it gives, like I've just had a professional facial. It's so good, I actually look forward to using it. That's saying something, because despite my job, I often dread doing my skincare, especially in the evening, when all I want to do is flop into bed and scroll TikTok. I use it morning and night, and recommend it to all of my friends and family in the market for a new, no-frills face cream that does exactly what it says on the tin. belif Aqua Bomb Jelly Cleanser, £22 While this cleanser is a bit pricier than others I love — like The Ordinary's Glycolipid Cream Cleanser, £11.10, and The Inkey List's Oat Cleansing Balm, £12, — you only need the tiniest squeeze to cleanse your skin, whether you're using it at the end of the day to melt away makeup and sunscreen, or first thing in the morning for a quick, gentle refresh. Hydrating hyaluronic acid and ultra-moisturising glycerin ensure my face doesn't feel like it might shatter into a million pieces (you know the feeling), even though it turns into a rich foam on contact with water. Since using this, I'm convinced my skin has become smoother and clearer. Honestly, Korean cleansers are elite, but here's how I know a product is truly excellent: when I catch my partner (famously finicky with skincare) using it too. belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask, £29 We've all been sleeping on sleeping masks. This one feels more like a moisture-rich night cream — minus the sticky residue — than a heavy face mask. It sinks in quickly, delivering hydration right where your skin needs it most. When I want to level up my routine, I apply it before any high-strength retinols to create a subtle barrier. When I do this, I don't get any flaking or irritation. It's rare to come across a serum that does it all, especially at this price point. The star ingredients are retinol, which helps refresh and renew the skin by encouraging cell turnover, and peptides, which are proteins that smooth skin texture and soften fine lines. That said, both are fairly low on the ingredients list, but that doesn't mean it's a write-off. Far from it. Beyond retinol, there's niacinamide, which helps minimise the look of large pores, controls excess oil and brightens over time. You'll also find arginine, a natural moisturising factor already present in our skin, and ceramide NP, which keeps the skin barrier strong so it stays soft and smooth, not parched and flaky. In other words, it's an all-rounder. I use this on days when I want to give my skin a break from higher-strength actives but don't want to stop entirely. belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel, £25 I'm notoriously anti-eye cream — I've always believed that taking your moisturiser up to your under-eyes and eyelids is more than enough. But this one is convincing me there's real value in a dedicated product; so much so, I've already finished a full tube of it. It's packed with brightening ingredients like vitamin C and niacinamide, both known for minimising hyperpigmentation. But in my experience, the real benefit is the ability to keep moisture under lock and key. Alongside glycerin, it contains sodium hyaluronate — a smarter version of hyaluronic acid with smaller molecules that sink into the skin more effectively. Because hyaluronic acid plumps the skin, I've noticed a real reduction in the faint dehydration fine lines under my eyes, especially when I wear concealer. I no longer have to fish it out of creases throughout the day. The cooling applicator is the cherry on top, especially if you wake up puffy like me, but I usually use my ring finger to gently tap the cream in until it's absorbed. belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb, £32 This is the face cream I recommend to everyone with oily skin. It has a gel texture that disappears in seconds, yet it's surprisingly moisturising — thanks to a clever mix of ingredients. Glycerin, shea butter, ceramides and squalane are top-tier moisturising components, so it's almost sorcery that it feels so lightweight. It's the ultimate moisturiser to use under sunscreen in summer, especially if your skin gets greasy or clogged in the heat.

Boots most affordable beauty box of the year saves shoppers £80
The beauty edit features popular and viral brands like Beauty of Joseon, The Inkey List, Byoma and more Boots is back with another money-saving beauty box – and this one is their most affordable of the year so far. Perfect for summer skincare lovers, this is the first edit of 2025 to come in under £30, while still being worth almost four times the price shoppers pay. The Fresh Faced Favorites Skincare Edit is packed with nine skincare must-haves and is available for £29.99. With a total value of over £110, this skincare edit is quite the steal, saving shoppers more than £80 on the RRP. It's brimming with summer-ready essentials, from glow-boosting serums to nourishing cleansers and, of course, SPF protection – all handpicked to keep skin fresh, hydrated, and radiant throughout the sunny season. Even better? Six of the nine products are full-sized, with one being worth more than the entire box on its own. The featured Lumene Nordic C Glow Boost Essence 30ml is worth £36.50 when purchased separately, so is £6.51 more than the price customers pay for the whole edit. The glow-giving essence is packed with vitamin C and Arctic cloudberry for plump, radiant skin, and works out at £3.33 as part of the new set. But that's not the only product worth more than £20, with the Pixi Vitamin-C Serum 30ml usually valued at £26. While Vitamin C is a very popular skincare ingredient, known for brightening dull complexions, some shoppers may have preferred to see a little more variety in the skincare kit. Away from the two Vitamin C serums, there's also some gentle yet effective cleansers in the form of The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm and an ELF Holy Hydration Cleansing Balm. This again doubles up on a similar type of product, but does give beauty fans a chance to work out which they prefer before they repurchase. Rounding out the edit, there's two mini Cetaphil products - another cleanser and a moisturising lotion - as well as a Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick Mugwort + Camellia, which is a TikTok-favourite K-beauty SPF that keeps skin protected and shine-free. Skincare enthusiasts will also discover some Boots Skin Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets and a BYOMA Brightening Serum. Elsewhere, LookFantastic has the Summer Heroes Edit for £45,which, considering it's valued at over £150, means a stunning saving of £105 for buyers. The exclusive bundle comes with six beauty gems, including four full-sized items from high-end brands such as Sol de Janeiro and ESPA. Space NK has also got a fun haul, inspired by the viral TikTok trend, of 'the everything shower'. The luxury edit of bath, body, and haircare costs £70 and is worth £165, boasting names like Sol de Janeiro, Living Proof and Alpha-H. Also available is the Set for Sun Edit, from Cult Beauty for £40, containing a range of SPF heroes to protect face, hair and body. But the Boots set does seem to be one of the most purse-friendly on the market this month. And if previous edits are anything to go by, it's likely that it will sell out quite quickly. Whether shoppers are revamping their skincare routine or want to try cult-favourite brands like Beauty of Joseon, Pixi, and BYOMA without breaking the bank, the edit is well worth considering. Pixi Vitamin-C Serum 30ml – Worth £26 The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm 50ml – Worth £6.50 Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser 29ml Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion 29ml Lumene Nordic C Glow Boost Essence 30ml – Worth £36.50 Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick Mugwort + Camellia 18g – Worth £15.50 Boots Skin Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets 50pk – Worth £4.50 ELF Holy Hydration Cleansing Balm 56.6g – Worth £11 BYOMA Brightening Serum 30ml – Worth £12.99

‘This £11 Korean peel is the only one that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin'
Occasionally using an exfoliating skincare product – whether you favour a physical (aka a scrub) or a chemical (aka acids) – is an excellent way to improve the skin's texture, tone and radiance, but if you have sensitive skin, you might find that these irritate rather than improve your complexion. However, I've found a formula that's gentle yet effective on delicate skin. Popular Korean brand Beauty of Joseon has just launched in the UK in Boots, as well as retailers Lookfantastic and Beauty Bay, and its lightweight, 'glass skin' formulas have quickly proven popular with shoppers – and us (check out our review of the brand's SPF here). Intrigued by the name, I put the Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel, which costs £11, to the test to see how it fared on my sensitive skin – and I was amazed by the result. Designed to be used once or twice a week, this exfoliator contains a blend of alpha hydroxy acids plus brightening rice and apricot blossom waters, and is a 'gommage' type of formula, meaning the exfoliating actives ball up when rubbed, giving both an chemical and a physical exfoliating action – but in a more gentle way that a lot of rough scrubs or strong peels. Although not too reactive, my skin can react badly to strong active ingredients such as acids. I've also definitely been guilty of overusing them in the past in an attempt to get the smoothest, glowiest skin possible, so I'm a little wary of exfoliating now and, to be honest, rarely do it. But I was too intrigued by this product to pass up giving it a go. A unique 'gommage' style exfoliator that's gentle on sensitive skin. You apply the gel onto clean, dry skin, and gentle rub it in. After a few seconds, something weird starts happening – the formula pills into little clumps, which then act as a light scrub (some on social media are saying that this is the skin lifting off, but it's not – it's the product). Stand over a sink as it's a little bit messy, but otherwise very quick and easy. Afterwards, it all washes off really easily with a splash of water – and I was so impressed with how my skin looked and felt: smoother, softer and brighter, but without feeling overly dry or shiny-smooth. Even better, I experienced no redness or irritation at all, and my make-up sat much better. It's a sentiment that's shared with Lookfantastic shoppers too, who also report how good it is for skin that's easily irritated. "Best Korean brand is a fan favourite for sensitive skin," wrote one person. "So far I am finding this exfoliator to work like a charm. Very pleased with my sensitive skin." "The most perfect skin peel," wrote another. "Leaves skin feeling so soft and glowing with no irritation. I can have sensitive skin to peels, especially round my mouth and chin area, but that was not a problem with this product." If you like this gommage style of exfoliator then another one to check out is the Gatineau Radiance Enhancing Gommage, available in 15ml or 150ml tubes. If you prefer an acid exfoliator, on the other hand, Skin Rocks has two excellent ones: The Gentle Acid, £49, to help with signs of ageing, and The Control Acid, £49, for oily or blemish-prone skin.
