Madonna to rerelease ‘Bedtime Stories' 30 years after multiplatinum album hit the charts

NEW YORK — Madonna is getting ready to rerelease her sixth studio album, 'Bedtime Stories,' three decades after the multiplatinum project first hit the charts. 'Bedtime Stories Re-release and Vinyl coming soon,' the Queen of Pop wrote on Instagram Monday, as the caption of a video of herself whirling around what appears to be her Upper East Side townhouse to the sound of the album's third single, the Björk-co-written 'Bedtime Story.' In classic Madonna style, the 66-year-old pop superstar hinted at suggestive poses while wearing a Burberry trench coat over a pink slip dress, fishnet gloves, thigh-high sheer tights and stilettos. Originally released in October 1994, 'Bedtime Stories' followed the sexually charged 'Erotica,' showing a more romantic side of the often-controversial star. The album's second single, the sugary pop ballad 'Take a Bow,' spent seven weeks atop the U.S. Hot 100 chart, while 'Bedtime Stories' became a top-five album in countries around the world, including the U.K., France and Canada. In the U.S., the heavily R&B-influenced album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified triple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Monday's announcement comes just days after the Grammy-winning superstar stunned fans with news that she was working with frequent collaborator Stuart Price on a sequel to her No. 1 album 'Confessions on a Dance Floor,' released in 2005. 'My Valentine's Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I'm putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can't wait to share it with you!!' she wrote on Instagram. The pop diva recently celebrated her 40-year career with a massive world tour, which kicked off in London in October 2023 just months after she was rushed to a hospital in New York City, where she spent several days in intensive care to be treated for a reported 'serious bacterial infection.' The critically acclaimed Celebration Tour wrapped up seven months later with a record-breaking finale in front of 1.6 million fans on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach.
