Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) remains the primary therapy, with treatment centers expanding virtual offerings and improving outcome documentation. Private equity investments are fueling growth, though challenges like therapist shortages and policy uncertainties persist. The report provides comprehensive insights into market dynamics, including forecasts, treatment modalities, and profiles of major providers. Dublin, May 20, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "U.S. Autism Treatment Centers Market 2025" report from Marketdata LLC has been added to offering. This study examines the fragmented $4.4 billion U.S. growth market comprised of for-profit and non-profit providers that serve autistic patients via brick & mortar centers and in-home therapy provided by therapists. There are waiting lists, significant untapped demand, and private equity investors are backing new ventures. Treatment centers have introduced virtual services and are now better at documenting outcomes for payors, but several headwinds do exist, namely uncertainty caused by the current administration, and a therapist shortage. The incidence of autism among American children has soared from 1 in 150 in 2000 to 1 in 31 today, and 6.8 million children and adults now live with autism. Yet, few therapies exist to treat this disease - just a few medications and ABA (applied behavioral analysis) programs. This groundbreaking report includes: dollar value & growth of the market from 2009 to 2024, with 2025 & 2028 forecasts, market structure, key metrics of treatment centers, definition of and the types of autism, typical therapies used, how ABA programs work and key operating metrics, insurance coverage, patient demographics, analysis of the market for drugs to treat autism, the latest CDC research and demographics on autism, market growth drivers, economic costs, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on operations and recovery since then, analysis of for-profit vs. non-profit treatment centers, discussion of the role of private equity, plus a ranking of the top for-profit treatment center chains and their revenues. Durham named principal of Southern Oaks

Clay Durham was announced as the next principal of Southern Oaks Elementary School on Thursday afternoon, prior to a reception at the school. Durham, who has held multiple positions at the school, will begin his new role July 1. He will replace Jennifer Humphrey, who is retiring at the end of the current school year. 'Being chosen to lead Southern Oaks Elementary School is truly a dream come true,' Durham said. 'I am honored and beyond excited to lead this incredible community. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families and inspiring students as we continue the tradition of academic excellence and create new opportunities for growth and success.' Durham said becoming an administrator wasn't always his goal. 'I think it's interesting that if you had asked me eight years ago, I would not have said I would be the principal at Southern Oaks,' he said. 'But I think God had a different plan for me.' Durham began his educational career in 2009 in Ohio County Schools as a physical education teacher. Three years later, he became a physical education teacher at Southern Oaks Elementary, a role he held for 11 years. While in the classroom, he was responsible for his students' academic and social-emotional well-being and focusing on the foundations of movement, exercise and health and wellness. In 2018 Durham was named the behavior interventionist, a role he held for five years. This role consisted of structuring and implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Systems school-wide to meet the social, emotional and behavioral needs of all students at Southern Oaks. Durham has worked collaboratively with his staff to build behavior management systems and supports to make Southern Oaks Elementary an environment where all students feel safe, valued and loved. He said the move to being a behavior interventionist was a career changer. 'We had a behavior interventionist position posted and I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I applied for it; and Ms. Humphreys saw some leadership qualities in me, and I have slowly climbed that ladder,' said Durham, who said he wouldn't be where he is without the tutelage of Humphrey. 'She's incredible. I told her this when she told me she was going to retire, that outside of my family, there's not many more people that have had a greater influence on my life, especially professionally. 'She has helped prepare me for this position and has taught me so many invaluable leadership skills. I can't say enough about her, and if I can do anything close to what she has done around here, I would consider it a great success.' Durham is currently serving as the assistant principal at Southern Oaks, a position he has held for the last three years. In this role, he has supervised the school's teaching and learning. He has worked to maintain an effective learning climate in the school, including evaluating and supervising the instructional processes, as well as overseeing the implementation of school-wide curriculums. Other responsibilities have included establishing guidelines for proper student conduct through the PBIS; planning, organizing, and implementing school activities; and implementing and supervising special education programs. Durham holds two master's degrees from the University of the Cumberlands. He graduated in 2013 with his Master's in Educational Administration with his principal certification, and again in 2014 with his Master's in Health Education. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2009. Daviess County Public Schools Superintendent Charles Broughton said Durham is a perfect fit for the school. 'It starts with being a good person; you would find that with anyone that you ask about Clay Durham, he's a good person, and his love for this school,' Broughton said. 'He's been here for the last 14 years, assistant principal role for three, and so just the connections, what he's established as a professional here, certainly went a long way with the committee and went a long way with the stakeholders, based on the feedback. 'I won't say it was an easy easy decision, because we had some really good applicants, but in the end he emerged, and I think he is the best hire for this school.' Broughton said maintaining the school's strong culture was also a consideration, and in that regard, Durham is well positioned to build on it. 'That came through a lot in the surveys and in the meetings with staff and with the council; there's no one that said anything to me, that said, 'I don't like how this is going,' ' Broughton said. 'Sometimes you want to go outside of whatever, a school or a district, if things aren't going so well. But in this circumstance, everybody is very pleased with what Southern Oaks is all about and they want to continue that and hopefully strengthen that. 'I hope and believe that Clay can take it to another level, if that's even possible.' Durham said his goals are to foster a learning environment that emphasizes engaging and rigorous instruction to meet the needs of every student. 'I plan to work collaboratively with the staff at Southern Oaks,' Durham said. 'We will create a learning environment that helps every student reach their potential and meet their needs academically, socially and emotionally.'

Transformative Applications Of AI In Cybersecurity

Aparna Achanta is a Principal Security Architect at IBM with over a decade of experience leading secure application development projects. getty In this article, I discuss the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity, its core applications and the common challenges it poses so organizations can make the most of AI tools to defend themselves. AI can bolster the security posture of an organization by helping businesses find, stop and fix cyberattacks faster and more accurately. • Threat Detection And Prevention: Traditional systems have a predefined set of rules and can only protect enterprises from threats they can identify. AI-powered cybersecurity tools can detect anomalies in almost anything. From network traffic to login attempts and even file activity. Machine learning (ML) models in AI analyze millions of data points in seconds, identifying anomalies that may help detect threats faster. It will keep enterprises safe by forecasting potential threats using AI-driven predictive analytics. AI is exceptionally great at detecting malware in encrypted files and phishing emails as it focuses on language patterns and analyzes everything. Furthermore, it can learn from the latest threat intelligence and adapt to threat actors' TTPs (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures) as they change. • Incident Response And Mitigation: Quick response is needed when a cyberattack happens to limit damage and access to information. AI can seamlessly detect entry points, isolate the affected systems, block harmful IPs and restore backup files so that the network is protected and there is no downtime. AI can look at past attacks and use the knowledge to predict and prevent future ones. AI systems can also simulate attacks and can help train the workforce to handle real threats. • Predictive Analysis And Risk Assessment: AI can look at historical data to predict future risks. This predictive analysis and risk assessment can forecast vulnerabilities in organizational networks and create proactive measures. For example, if an organization is using software that has not been updated with recent software updates, AI will flag outdated software as a potential entry point for attackers, prompting updates or additional security measures. AI evolves to counter new attack methods like a dynamic shield; AI algorithms can monitor network traffic, identify suspicious patterns and proactively block potential attacks. • User Behavior Analytics (UBA): AI's UBA technology keeps an eye on user activity and identifies unusual patterns. It establishes a baseline of normal user behavior and then uses AI to identify deviations from this norm. For example, if an employee's account is accessed from an unusual place or is used to download critical data, AI can send a warning to prevent cyberattacks and safeguard valuable information. • AI-Powered Deception Technology: Deception technology tricks attackers by giving them fake valuable assets to gather information about their methods. AI magnifies the effect of these systems by identifying patterns in attacker behavior, improving deception techniques and automating their deployment and management. • Identity And Access Management (IAM): IAM systems are essential to control who can access what within an organization. It can be quite a job for a security professional or even a team to keep up, but AI can monitor logins, typing styles and mouse movements and detect any misuse of credentials. If anything throws a flag, AI can lock accounts that show suspicious activity, reducing the risk of unauthorized access. AI can bolster the security posture of an organization by helping businesses find, stop and fix cyberattacks faster and more accurately. • Automating Security Processes: AI takes over tasks like automating incident responses, applying security patches or isolating compromised systems via automation, which means there's little to no need for human intervention. AI can help organizations allocate resources better, so the focus is on strategic initiatives while AI handles repetitive tasks. Rolling out AI in an organization without careful planning and execution can be disastrous. Here's a step-by-step guide to ensure a successful implementation. • Assess Needs And Goals: The goals and needs of every organization are different because they face specific cybersecurity challenges but identifying areas where AI can have the most impact will help reduce false positives in threat detection. Security teams need to tailor their AI cybersecurity strategy to align with the organization's business goals. Security teams need to select AI tools that suit their specific requirements, such as compatibility with existing security infrastructure, scalability and vendor reliability. Security teams should plan to minimize integration costs, avoid system disruptions and ensure long-term ROI. • Continuous Monitoring And Adaptation: AI tools need to be monitored and updated regularly. Training security personnel in AI tools is critical. Security teams need to regularly review system performance, identify areas for improvement and update models with new threat intelligence. This will minimize the risk of breaches and increase business efficiency as the downtime will also be reduced. • Help Establish Metrics For Success: Use KPIs to create a sharp vision of AI investments. These KPIs can be tracking metrics like Mean Time to Detect (MTTD), Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) and reduced security incidents to help get valuable insights into ROI and areas for improvement. There are plenty of challenges when adopting AI to strengthen cybersecurity. Data Quality: AI depends on machine learning models that work with a huge amount of data. The data is often fragmented, inconsistent and isn't labeled properly. It can also exhibit societal bias, which will then be reinforced in the AI algorithm. Ensure data goes through data cleaning, preprocessing and bias assessment before it is used to train the model. Governance: AI raises questions about potential misuse, leakage of sensitive data and liability. It's best to establish ethical frameworks, centralized governance bodies and guidelines for AI development, deployment and use within each organization. Integrating AI in cybersecurity is revolutionizing the way businesses protect their digital assets. AI can empower organizations to stay ahead of the latest threats and cybercriminals, but successful implementation requires careful planning, skilled professionals, and a commitment to continuous monitoring and compliance.
