‘Stressed' Kelly Clarkson staffers fear show's sudden ‘collapse' as singer's uncertain TV future looms: report
Kelly Clarkson has reportedly made her eponymous talk show staffers fear for their jobs as rumors continue to swirl that she wants to quit her show. A producer on the 'Kelly Clarkson Show' talked to the Daily Mail on Monday about the general feeling of unease among staff members. 'Not feeling too stable,' the staffer alleged. 'She could bolt at any time. Where does that leave me?' The producer clarified that, although 'everyone loves Kelly' and is 'a wonderful person,' they would 'understand' if she wanted to leave because she's 'unhappy.' 'She should move on,' the source pointed out. The insider also addressed the possibility of 'Today' show alum Hoda Kotb taking over for the 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' singer. 'Maybe Hoda would be a better boss. I know she's universally beloved and respected by her former coworkers. Maybe she would be good. She sure would be a lot more stable than what we've been going through,' the producer said. 'If Hoda wants to do it, it could be win-win for everyone.' Reps for the show and Clarkson did not immediately return Page Six's request for comment. Back in March, Clarkson worried fans when she was absent from the show for over two weeks without any explanation. However, a source told TMZ at the time that the 'Since U Been Gone' singer, 43, was 'completely fine,' but had been 'dealing with a personal matter that does not directly involve her.' The undisclosed matter wasn't 'a cause for alarm.' In April, Page Six exclusively revealed she wanted to leave the show once her contract expires in 2026 to spend more time with daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8. 'Kelly's No. 1 priority is her children, and they always will be. The show is grueling. It's a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South,' an industry insider told us, referencing her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. Before moving to NYC for her show, Clarkson lived in Encino, Calif., and Montana with her two kids and now-ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Additionally, it seems like her decision to stay or leave will be based on the success of her upcoming ninth album and Las Vegas residency, which are both set to debut this summer. Amid the 'American Idol' winner's desires to leave and the uncertainty of the show, we revealed that NBC executives were willing to do anything to make her stay. But it seems like they have given up as they started to build a list of possible replacements, including their very own Kotb. 'There's a long list of names and Hoda is part of that list,' a source told The Post earlier this month. 'NBC never wanted Hoda to leave. The question is, would Hoda want to do it?' Kotb, 60, took a step back from NBC when she quit the 'Today' show in January after 26 years with the network to focus on her daughters. The insider claimed that execs want to replace Clarkson with someone who already has a fanbase and a diverse background. 'Hoda ticks a lot of boxes. She's an Egyptian, older Kelly Clarkson,' the source said. The 'Kelly Clarkson Show' has earned 22 Daytime Emmys and an average of 1.2 million viewers per day in the 2024-2025 season.

Sterling K. Brown reveals the touching reason he stopped going by his middle name
Sterling K. Brown uses his name as a tribute to his late grandfather. The 49-year-old actor went by his middle name of Kelby until he was in his late teens, but explained that because by that point, he had been without his grandfather for six years, he adopted the moniker he uses now to remember him by. Speaking on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', he said: "I went by my middle name, I went by Kelby til i was 16 years old. My dad's Sterling Brown Jr. My grandfather Sterling Brown Sr. I'm Sterling Kelby Brown. "I wanted my own name, and it felt like Sterling was like an old man's name. "But because he passed away when I was 10, by the time I turned 16 and I hadn't heard his name for five-and-a-half years, I was like, I kind of just want to hear that name again, so I asked people to call me Sterling." The 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' hitmaker was left visibly moved by his revelation and was almost on the verge of tears. She said: "Okay, okay, that was so sweet and beautiful." Sterling has become a household name in recent years thanks to roles in 'This Is Us' and 'American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson' but in the early days of his career, he managed to avoid having to get another job by being "so frugal-minded" with the way he lived, including eating as cheaply as possible. His manager of 25 years, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley, told 'There are so many careers built on offers that Sterling had and wasn't available to do. 'Sterling just never had to work doing anything else. He was one of the rare actors who never had to have a side hustle because he was willing to live so frugal-minded that he rented a room in a Harlem townhouse, didn't have his own bathroom, couldn't afford a gym membership. "He would get a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts and eat them in front of me at my desk like, 'Well, these are my calories for the day!' He was very fun and very quirky in that way. That grit of 'I'll do whatever I have to do to get it.''

Kelly Clarkson admits she has had 'a lot of personal ups and downs' in recent years
Kelly Clarkson has had "a lot of ups and downs" personally in recent years. The 42-year-old singer - who split from Brandon Blackstock in 2022 after just under a decade of marriage - has carved out a secondary career as a TV host with her eponymous talkshow since 2019 and as she celebrated her milestone 1000th episode, admitted that she has had to deal with a lot away from the cameras as well. During Thursday's (20.01.25) episode, she told the studio audience: "I cannot believe today marks the 1,000th. It's crazy. "We have met some hugely talented people, tons of big stars and inspiring everyday heroes. "We have created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs. "A lot of ups and downs personally as well!" The 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' hitmaker did not address her divorce specifically, and instead reflected on the times she hosted the show "with an eye patch" and with her leg in a cast" on two separate occasions as she dealt with injuries. Kelly - who has River, 10, and eight-year-old Remy with her ex-husband - added that she and her audience have "laughed and cried" together upon the celebration. She said: "For 1,000 episodes, we have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together." The 'Breakaway' songstress previously revealed that production on the first season of the show was "really rough" for her because she had to deal with so much in her personal life. She said: "'I was going through a really rough few years, and even in the first season it was rough behind closed doors. "Just to be able to come into season 5 feeling good and knowing my kids feel good — and the dust has settled. Season five is my first season to actually enjoy every minute of it."
