Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has introduced an extra Rs 250 'shagun' as a gift for women benefitting from the Ladli Behna Yojana to mark Raksha Bandhan. This comes in addition to the existing monthly stipend of Rs 1,250 allocated by the scheme. The announcement was made during a public gathering in Belkheda village, situated roughly 40 km from the heart of Jabalpur District. At the event, CM Yadav highlighted the state's ongoing efforts to uplift women, reinforcing the government's mission to bolster financial support and empowerment for a significant gesture, Chief Minister Yadav transferred Rs 1,551.44 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.27 crore women, marking the 25th disbursement since the inception of the Ladli Behna Yojana. "This is the 25th time funds have been distributed to women since the program began," officials stated.
