Jillian Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, pleaded not guilty this week to two felony charges after she allegedly shot at police officers outside her lavish Los Angeles home. Prosecutors allege she leveled her gun at officers and fired off a shot before the cops opened fire. LAPD releases body camera footage of Jillian Lauren police shootout outside home
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has released body camera footage showing Jillian Lauren, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, involved in a police shootout. According to an LAPD press release, Jillian Lauren was shot by officers outside her Los Angeles home on April 8, 2025, after she pointed a handgun at police. The LAPD footage of Jillian Lauren's arrest was made public via YouTube on April 25, 2025, including surveillance video and 911 dispatch audio. Jennifer Forkish, public information director for the LAPD, noted that the Jillian Lauren investigation could take up to a year to complete before determining if the officers acted according to department policies. Officers headed down the Shriner's street and allegedly came across Jillian outside of her home with a handgun. The novelist allegedly refused to put down her weapon after being asked several times before cops opened fire on her when she pointed it at them. Jillian allegedly ran back into her home before exiting later on, per photos obtained by KTLA. She was booked for attempted murder and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Ahead of her arrest, the New York Times Bestselling author had been diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery. Jillian has been married to Scott since 2005. They share two adopted kids.
