Everyone Agrees That These HOKA Sneakers Feel Like Walking on Clouds
'Solvitur ambulando,' or in other words, 'it is solved by walking,' is a phrase that has guided people for centuries. Think of it as the ancient Greek version of a 'hot girl walk.' Its relevance today is a testament to how timeless and therapeutic the act of a simple stroll has always been. Bekah Broe, HOKA's senior product director, understood that nothing is more painful than an unfit shoe. That's why, she explains, HOKA's sneakers are all designed with innovative technologies that work together to provide optimal comfort and support. Paired with their ultra-lightweight build, HOKAs deliver a signature spring to your step, making everyday walks much bouncier without the consequence of sore feet. Bekah isn't just talking the talk, her customers walk the walk, fueling HOKA's cult-like following and cloud-like associations. Ask any runner, athlete, or step-counter what shoes they exercise in, and the majority of them will answer HOKAs. These super-engineered sneakers soften every harsh landing on concrete, air out built-up heat, and weigh about as much as an apple. When asked what makes HOKA shoes stand out, HOKA NAZ elite athlete Aliphine Tuliamuk says her 'favorite thing would have to be the versatility.' It's true that each shoe is built to accommodate various activities. Every pair has a different combination of their technologies, explains Bekah. 'A cushioned midsole, our Active Foot Frame™, and the MetaRocker™' all work together to provide a unique experience for the walker, depending on the model.' Each person has a different need when it comes to comfortable shoes, and HOKA meets them every step of the way. We listed out the best HOKA shoes for walking, whether that's a ten-mile trek or a simple run to the bodega, below. It's all in the name—'skyflow' makes you feel like you're running on clouds. The curved footbed lifts you right into the perfect step, whether you're running or power walking. Sizes: 5-12 Colors: 10 Customer review: 'I bought this shoe about two weeks ago and been using it nonstop to workout, around the house, running errands, and my daily walks. I have had zero pain. I will definitely get another pair in another color.' With the Clifton 10, you can choose between a regular, wide, and extra wide fit. The cushioned footbed received an additional three millimeter upgrade and makes walking on concrete feel like strolling over grass. Sizes: 4-12 Colors: 17 These are not your ordinary walking shoes–they're built for trekking up a mountain. If your ideal 'walk' includes bug sprays, a long podcast, and gazing at the trees, then you'll want to invest in these outdoorsy shoes. Colors: 2 Customer review: 'First these shoes are very comfortable. I work long-hour shifts (standing) and these have saved my feet. These are my first pair of HOKA shoes and wow I'm shocked, puts a smile on my face every time I put them on.' A foamed midsole, a molded collar, and a knitted upper for breathability make this HOKA shoe a customer favorite. It supports every step you take and minimizes any potential foot or knee aches. Colors: 16 Customer review: 'I purchased the Bondi 9 for a trip to Switzerland. I knew I would be doing A LOT of walking and needed a really good shoe. After a ton of research I purchased these. I am so glad I did! They are the most comfortable shoe ever. I wore them brand new out of the box with no break in period. Not one blister or any foot pain! Walked over 30 miles!' The Rincon 4 is HOKA's ideal running shoe–not too plush and light as a feather. It has everything you need and none of that extra fluff. The thick sole holds up mile after mile without wearing down too quickly. Customer review: 'I've struggled in the past with plantar fasciitis and other foot troubles, and these shoes solved all of that for me. I've been a dedicated Hokas customer ever since, and these Rincons are so comfy and supportive. I find them excellent both for casual walking and for some pretty rugged hiking.' If you're not up for tying laces, the Transport is the pair for you. Perfect for those who live in the city, they were made with transportation in mind. Sizes: 5-11 Colors: 7 options Customer review: 'I love them so much I bought another pair in black. Love the elastic laces, the GORE-TEX uppers, and the durability of Vibram. The Transport style can accommodate various sock thicknesses with ease. As soon as they were delivered today I opened up the box and put them on!' According to Broe, these are ideal for those with wide feet and one of HOKA's most stable shoes. Their combination of stability and plush foam makes for a sneaker that has the best of both worlds. Colors: 10 options Customer review: 'This is my fifth pair of Gaviotas. I have tried many other brands of high-end running and walking shoes, and nothing compares to the quality and comfort of this shoe.' A do-it-all sneaker, the Kawana 2 is perfect for all kinds of activities, including walking. You will love just how versatile these are, all while having the right amount of cushion. Colors: Black/Black, White/Nimbus Cloud, Vanilla/Sandstone, Black/White Customer review: 'The balance of the shoe is amazing. I was a Nike lover, but now I am switching to HOKA!' The lightest pair on the list, these walking shoes are also great for running. They'll take you from your run to brunch, all while keeping you comfortable and supported. Colors: 6 options Customer review: 'The shoe is extremely lightweight and so comfortable! Well cushioned with lots of stability and support. I've already bought a second pair. I've finally found the PERFECT shoe for all of my foot issues!' Wear them walking, running, and working out, the Solimar is balanced and made to last for miles. A perfect shoe for everyday. Customer review: 'They didn't disappoint. I love the light weight of the shoe, as well as the comfort and ease of slipping my feet into them.' Every pair of HOKAs features a different combination of technologies. According to Broe, 'a cushioned midsole, our Active Foot Frame™, and the MetaRocker™' all work together to provide a unique experience for the walker, depending on the model. Since people want different things out of their walking shoes, HOKA has a lot of different options that allow consumers to be able to find a pair that suits their individual needs best. Yes, but the timing will be different with how often you wear them, how long you wear them, and the level of care you put into them. The terrain you're walking on also plays a part. On average, though, you might need to replace them between 250-400 miles. 'If you've noticed any initial discomfort, uneven wear patterns, balding tread, fraying or splitting, it might be a great time to invest in a new pair of footwear,' says Broe. I bought a derelict house with my boyfriend of six months – people say renovations ‘destroy even long married couples'
A YOUNG woman has been warned after buying a derelict house with her boyfriend of six months, Bekah, from Manchester, and her boyfriend Ian first met six months ago on Hinge and have already bought a house together. 2 2 But they decided to go for a derelict building to save them money and renovate it themselves. Bekah revealed that she and her partner, who is a builder, had just enough money to buy the house, so were hoping that sharing the journey on social media would help pay for the work. She said: "Even though we've only been officially boyfriend and girlfriend for six months, we decided to pool our money and take the leap on this huge project. "We've both always had dreams of renovating houses and we're the perfect team to do it together." In the video it was clear the couple had already got to work, they hired gardeners to help strip the ivy taking over their house which was a bigger job than any of them imagined. She said that the overgrown ivy had caused structural issues in the house and that wasn't all. As Bekah got busy tearing off the wallpaper, she found that much of the structure was rotten and covered in mould. "I steamed off wallpaper in most of the room while documenting it all on this new account which I've made with the hope of being able to monetise some of the renovations," she explained. While she was terrified to see just how much work they had to do, she was grateful to those watching the videos, which helped her pay for the work. In a recent video, she shared how the garden clean up had cost her £500, but she had already made £400 from the TikTok creator fund after filming the process. Trolls say council houses can't look nice but my stunning hallway will prove them wrong And she hoped to do the same with the rest of the house. "My aim with this project is that if I vlog every single thing. hopefully, I can monetise so things will cover themselves," she added. The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @ renovationstyled with over 349k views and 36k likes. While many were excited to follow the renovation project along, others warned it could break their relationship. One person wrote: "Renovations can destroy long married couples. If you survive this you know that he is 1000% the one!!" Another commented: "If you can renovate a house together you can survive anything." "Going to be a stunning house.. Be well worth it," penned a third. Home upgrades that add the most value to a house The best renovation to add value totally depends on your property, the local market and your potential buyers. Bekah Martinez Defends Not Shaving Her Legs For 7 Years
Bekah Martinez completely shut down a nasty comment about her body hair, and good for her because I'm so over unnecessary negativity in social media comments sections. Like, where the hell do people get off? You might remember her as Bekah M. from Season 22 of The Bachelor with Ari Luyendyk, but today she's dragging haters on the internet for criticizing her for not shaving her legs for seven years. With her Bachelor days behind her, Bekah has been engaged to Grayston Leonard since 2022. On July 9, she shared a comment she received on Instagram that read, "Your face doesn't jive with your hairy legs. Grey must be grossed out." Responding to the comment, that couldn't even get her fiancé's name-spelling right, Bekah defended her choice to remain unshaven. "I started sneaking my mom's razors in 3rd grade. I remember praying to God that he'd remove all my hair from the neck down. Family, friends, and even teachers and coaches would gently tease when any of my jet black leg stubble was growing out," Bekah wrote. "It was seemingly harmless but continued to reinforce that my body's hair was wrong." Bekah shared how she doesn't want her children to be shamed by unrealistic beauty standards. She shares three children with Grayston: Ruth, 6, Franklin, 5, and Ernest, 21 months. "I stopped shaving when I was pregnant with our first child. I wanted my daughter (and my future sons) to see that hair on a woman's body is normal. Not shameful. Not gross," she wrote on a photo of her pregnant. "I wanted to demonstrate that body hair is not 'masculine,' because I am a woman. And so, my body hair is feminine." Alongside a photo of her walking on the beach with her kids, Bekah said that when her daughter Ruth pointed to her legs and said, "Mom, my legs look like yours' without an ounce of shame, her decision to not shave her legs was worth it. But, before you assume that it was all about her children's future, think again. Bekah's decision not to shave was rooted in changing how she feels about her own body. She wrote on a photo of her playing on the beach with her kids, "It wasn't just for my kids. It was for me. I wanted to consciously work through the disgust I had in my natural body. I still don't love my body hair. In certain settings I feel people's stares and feel embarassed. But the feeling has so much less power over me than it used to." People are praising Bekah for her remarks and for not shaving her legs. Here's what some of them are saying: Good for you, Bekah! Now, I want to hear what you think. Share your thoughts in the comments.

English Ivy, scientifically known as Hedera helix, is a versatile and hardy evergreen vine commonly found in gardens, landscapes, and indoor settings. Originating from Europe and Western Asia, it is widely appreciated for its lush, green foliage and ability to cover walls, trellises, and ground surfaces. Key Characteristics: Foliage: English Ivy has glossy, dark green leaves that can be lobed or unlobed, depending on the variety and maturity of the plant. Growth Habit: This plant is a vigorous climber, using aerial rootlets to attach itself to surfaces. It can also spread along the ground, creating dense mats of foliage. Flowers and Fruits: Although not commonly noticed, English Ivy produces small, greenish-yellow flowers in late summer to early fall. These are followed by black or dark purple berries, which are toxic to humans but provide food for birds. Uses: Ground Cover: Ideal for preventing soil erosion and covering large areas with minimal maintenance. Climbing Vine: Perfect for adding greenery to walls, fences, and trellises, providing both aesthetic appeal and privacy. Indoor Plant: Popular as a houseplant due to its adaptability to low light conditions and ease of care. Care Tips: Light: Thrives in partial to full shade but can tolerate some sun, especially in cooler climates. Water: Prefers moist, well-drained soil but is relatively drought-tolerant once established. Pruning: Regular pruning helps control its growth and prevents it from becoming invasive. Soil: Adaptable to a variety of soil types, though it prefers slightly alkaline to neutral pH levels. Cautions: Invasiveness: In some regions, English Ivy is considered invasive due to its aggressive growth habit. It can outcompete native plants and damage structures if not properly managed.
