I ordered the 'perfect' Roman maxi dress and it completely hides my tummy
A floral maxi dress that hangs beautifully never goes out of style. With a summer holiday coming up, I began the annual search to find the perfect one to hide my middle-aged lumps and bumps.
Being a little more on the larger side than I'd like to be, finding a dress that can cover my flabby arms, hide my burgeoning 'meno-belly' and still makes me feel stylish and sleek is like finding a needle in a haystack. Imagine my delight then, when a recent online order from Roman fit the brief spectacularly.
The Black Floral Print Border Maxi Dress is what I would call 'an absolute stunner'. Currently on sale for £45, Roman is offering 10% off all new seasons using cood COOL10 - taking the price down to £40.50.

Pretty as a picture, the dress is made from breathable, lightweight cotton which will hopefully help to keep the hot flushes at bay. Designed to flatter, it has a gently plunging V-neckline and 3/4 sleeves to add a little coverage on cooler days.
A beautifully intricate border floral print adds a dash of visual interest, and I'm a sucker for monochrome clothing with a shock of red as it's a good excuse to break out my favourite red lipstick. Easy to dress up or down, I'll be pairing it with a denim jacket and chunky sandals for an chic daytime look.

With a relaxed smock shape its just the right length on me, although being fairly tall at 5'9 - it might be a little too long for shorter ladies. The longer length and flattering shape hides a multitude of sins without looking like a muumuu.
I'll be keeping the Roman dress for sure, but other contenders for flattering holiday dresses include the Floral Pleated Mesh Print V-Neck Occasion Midi Dress from Next. A touch more expensive at £56, the mesh design is very pretty and the gathered waist look comfortable.
In another sale, Boden has reductions of up to 40%, featuring a selection of floral dresses that are blossoming with discounts. The Bella Puff Sleeve Maxi Dress, for example, is a tempting choice reduced from £135 to £54, in a range of colourful designs that buyers have called 'beautiful'.
Roman shoppers that love the floral print maxi dress as much as I do have left plenty of positive reviews. One stylish shopper said: "This dress is beautiful on. Lots of compliments. I'm 5ft 8inches. It was a perfect length. So comfortable too."
Another added: "Fabulous dress. Lightweight cotton means that the tiers of the dress float beautifully. The bodice fits perfectly, giving a flattering slim silhouette and the sleeves are a lovely bell shape at a perfect length."
A third was equally as impressed, adding: "This is a lovely dress fit is true to size . The dress flows around when you walk a great dress to wear for that summers day party . The fabric is good quality overall l am very pleased with this dress ."
Some buyers were concerned about the length though. One reviewer said: "A bit long, a petite length would have been good, but lovely dress."
Overall, the dress has received a 4.8 out of five-star rating with Roman shoppers, and honestly, I'd absolutely give it five stars too.
