Eagles teammates get phenomenal one-word reviews from Nolan Smith

Nolan Smith was asked to describe Eagles teammates with one word, and he passed the test with flying colors. Reloaded... It's only one word, but it says a lot. Recently, it was used in conjunction with the Philadelphia Eagles. FOX Sports' Ben Arthur used it during some recent analysis. He offered a unique take, describing each NFL team's offseason using a singular word. 'Reloaded' certainly works. It's a nice shift from an overworked theme hovering over the current offseason. Fans, pundits, and the media have gone on and on about Philadelphia's offseason losses. They assume the defense will take a step backward. That may not be the case. How do we know, based on recent acquisitions, that this team won't be just as good or better? If the leaders step up, this team can soar. Philadelphia has lost veteran leadership like Fletcher Cox, Jason Kelce, and Brandon Graham over the past two offseasons. Still, if what we have seen from some of the young guys like Nolan Smith is any indication, the Eagles' future is in some safe and secure hands. Nolan Smith joins Good Morning Football's breakfast table Nolan Smith was a guest on NFL Network's highly popular Good Morning Football show. It's becoming more and more apparent that he has all of the traits worthy of a captain's patch. He's well-spoken. He's a student of the game. He's one of Vic Fangio's prized pupils. He is likeable, and that goes without saying. While on GMFB, he was asked to play 'Bird is the Word'. He was asked to describe a few of his teammates. Like Arthur at FOX Sports, he was only allowed one word to say. Cooper DeJean is 'electrifying'. He was 'flabbergasted' by Saquon Barkley's reverse hurdle. Jalen Hurts is described as 'the one'. Here's a look if you missed this one live. Yep! It's safe to say he passed this one with flying colors. Nolan Smith has the 'it factor'. Ben Arthur is right. Philadelphia has certainly reloaded. It's about more than Howie Roseman finding an edge rusher to replace another. He has found another crop of leaders. Yes... Cox, Kelce, and Brandon Graham are gone, but their voices have been replaced by Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Lane Johnson, and Smith. The best part is this. There are other players on this team with the same quality, that same penchant for leadership. Keep an eye on Jordan Davis, Jordan Mailata, and Jalyx Hunt moving forward. Here's a promise. You can rest easy. Your Birds are going to be fine.

A simple statement from an NFL insider perfectly captures the Eagles identity

One of the best Eagles descriptions yet has come, and it only took one word for its delivery. One day, this generation of Philadelphia Eagles fans will be too old and grey to endure the parking and frigid weather of a January playoff game. Hopefully, when they pass the torch, they'll be handing it to a younger contingent that has earned its wings, one ready to carry this disdain of NFC East rivals for many decades to follow. New grudges will be born. That comes with the territory when playing meaningful games long after the season has ended for other franchises. We may already be seeing the result of that. The Green Bay Packers... The San Francisco 49ers. Something about the mention of their names makes the average Birds fan's skin crawl. Here we sit, waiting for another banner to be hung and unveiled from the rafters at Lincoln Financial Field. For just the second time since the AFL-NFL merger, Philadelphia enters the regular season as the defending and reigning Super Bowl champions. Some have argued in favor of a Super Bowl hangover, that the offseason losses will be too significant to bear and overcome. Ben Arthur of FOX Sports makes the case for another outcome. Birds fans will certainly like his theory better. FOX Sports perfectly nails the Eagles with a spot-on one-word description of their offseason "Reloaded"... That's how Arthur sees the Eagles' past few months. His take, One Word That Describes Every NFL Team's Offseason, perfectly encapsulates everything we saw from February to the present day. You've been told that concerns about the Eagles' defensive readiness have gone on long enough, but sometimes, fans and the media need a second opinion. We enter Exhibit A into evidence. "The Eagles may have lost key players on their defensive line, like Josh Sweat and Milton Williams, but they've added Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari on low-risk, high-reward contracts as replacements. Former first-round pick Kenyon Green also enters the picture for guard depth after Mekhi Becton's departure in free agency. With the core of last year's Super Bowl-winning team returning and the expected growth of young players, Philadelphia should be a threat to repeat. " Low-risk, high-reward signings were coupled with an extension given to First-Team All-Pro Zack Baun. Then, the team added to their cupboard with a solid ten-man draft class. Please make no mistake, despite attempts to improve their rosters, opposing teams on Philadelphia's schedule may struggle to keep up with the firepower the Birds have on both sides of the ball. There's still much to iron out. That's okay. That's what happens during this time of year. Training camp and the preseason will be used to construct the back half of the depth chart and iron out the rough edges, but rest easy, Birds fans. Something special is brewing. Another deep playoff run is possible.
