Lowes heir Josh Penn and Ben Palmer's Point Piper home sells
Lowes heir Josh Penn and his husband Ben Palmer have sold their Wyuna Rd, Point Piper mansion for $23.5m. The couple, with son Brooklyn, 6, and daughter Blake, 4, are now understood to be focusing on renovating the Penn family's palace at Cap 'd'ail in the south of France, where they're intending on spending some time next year. And they're also now debating whether to move to their former Double Bay home, now rebuilt, or to another eastern suburbs mansion they've apparently purchased, that's 'quite substantial'. MORE: Hush-hush sale hits 2025 record MORE:Billionaire chicken heiress's record-breaking sale Penn and Palmer are listed as co-owners on the land title for Capri, the Edwardian residence at 4 Wyuna Rd bought for $16m in 2021, alongside Penn's parents David and Linda Penn who have 70 per cent ownership. But it's now sold via Monika Tu and Jad Khattar of Black Diamonz, with Tom Penfold of Cohen Handler known to have introduced the buyer. There'd initially been hopes of $28m. Penn and Palmer had been living in Capri during the three-year rebuild of their own home at 7 Carlotta Rd, Double Bay, bought for $6.7m in 2020, which is apparently 'incredible' and nearly ready to move into. No clue yet as to the location of this other 'quite substantial' property, which is yet to settle. The Wyuna Rd residence was previously owned by nursing-home scion Mark Moran and his interior decorator wife Evette. The historic home on a 723sqm block had harbour views, an internal lift, multiple balconies, manicured grounds and a pool. Penn and Palmer had initially intended to do major renovations, but ended up doing just landscaping the garden and adding lighting. Their good taste in furniture helped give the home extra zing. Josh Penn and mother Linda, the highly regarded philanthropist and CEO of Lowes Menswear that's worth $800m, recently raised a whopping $84.3m at the recent Gold Dinner for the Sydney Children's Hospital foundation.

Beyond Paradise restaurant's celebrity owner 'proud' of show but admits to 'kickback' from locals The Sardine Factory in Looe, Cornwall, is the real-life location of The Ten Mile Kitchen, which is owned by chef Ben Palmer, who won the Great British Menu in 2024 Kris Marshall on reuniting with Love Actually co-star BBC Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise launched in 2023 and set to the backdrop of scenic Looe in Cornwall. Kris Marshall returns as Humphrey Goodman from the original series, now solving crimes in the make-believe Shipton Abbott with his detective crew. Additionally, the story delves into Humphrey's home life with his partner, Martha Lloyd (played by Sally Bretton), who steps into the culinary scene with her venture The Ten Mile Kitchen. The actual venue used for Martha's enterprise is owned by none other than chef Ben Palmer, crowned champion in the 2024 Great British Menu. Palmer discussed with the Daily Express how his restaurant, The Sardine Factory, became a pilgrimage site for fans and the community's mixed reactions to its newfound fame. Ben confided: "You know you get a lot of kickback from a lot of locals saying, we don't want more people coming to town, but you know what it's so important to bring tourism to the restaurant business, we rely on it," reports the Express. Ben disclosed that despite some negative reactions, many locals have welcomed the attention, saying: "As locals, we were all really proud when we saw our beautiful kind of hometown on the telly, it was really kind of cool, and everybody was kind of asking, 'where is this beautiful place?'" It kind of gives you a sense of feeling like we're really proud that this is our hometown, and it just showcases it, making you realise how beautiful it is as well." Admiring his locality, Ben remarked: "It's a lovely place, but then when you come to see it, you think, 'my God, it is actually,' we're very lucky. "It's a very beautiful place, and then everybody wants to come and visit where they saw on TV, which was really cool." Article continues below Regarding the popularity of Beyond Paradise, Ben acknowledged his surprise, confessing: "I never kind of really watched it, and then obviously I thought, you know, it's in my own town and stuff, you might catch a glimpse of someone you know. I started to watch it and, you know what? It's pretty good." Ben opened his restaurant back in 2018 as a part of reinvigorating the town, which also included opening a museum. The Sardine Factory gets its name from its previous incarnation as an old sardine processing plant. Beyond Paradise in available on BBC iPlayer

MOL chooses Inmarsat NexusWave to support digital transformation
Inmarsat Maritime has entered an agreement with Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) to facilitate the transition of MOL's fleet from the Fleet Xpress (FX) service to Inmarsat's NexusWave. This upgrade aims to enhance the digitalisation efforts of the Japanese shipping company by providing a fully managed bonded connectivity service across its vessels. The implementation and support for this transition will be managed by local Inmarsat partner JSAT MOBILE Communications, which will oversee a diverse fleet that includes liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, oil tankers, and car carriers. MOL is adapting to changing operational requirements and crew connectivity demands by seeking comprehensive satellite communication solutions. The NexusWave service combines multiple network underlays into a single bonded connection, offering high speeds, reliability, unlimited data, and global coverage. It includes enterprise-grade cybersecurity, continuous technical support, and transparent pricing structures. MOL chief digital and information officer Junichi Yoshiyama said: 'Our digitalised and connected ships are becoming floating operations centres and homes for our crew, and Inmarsat's NexusWave will help keep them connected to high-speed internet and support our onboard digitalisation strategy.' Recent tests of the NexusWave service have demonstrated download speeds reaching 330-340Mbps and upload speeds between 70-80Mbps, with network availability reported at over 99.9%. Inmarsat is committed to enhancing its services, with plans to integrate the next-generation ultra-high capacity, high-speed ViaSat-3 Ka-band network, which is expected to further boost connectivity speeds for NexusWave. Inmarsat Maritime president Ben Palmer said: 'We are proud to continue our partnership with MOL and to deliver NexusWave as an accelerator of maritime digitalisation and, by extension, an enabler of the floating office and floating home. 'Forward-thinking operators like MOL are drawn to the solution for its performance, robust capabilities, and the confidence that comes from working with a reliable maritime connectivity partner.' In February this year, Maersk partnered with Inmarsat Maritime to improve satellite communications for its fleet, enhancing connectivity for around 340 container ships globally between 2025 and 2026. "MOL chooses Inmarsat NexusWave to support digital transformation" was originally created and published by Ship Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.
