Search for missing Pa. man
JERSEY SHORE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are searching for a man reported missing after he was last seen on Sunday. Lycoming Regional Police Department is searching for David Benis who was last seen leaving his residence in Jersey Shore, Sunday, February 23. Police stated Benis left Sunday to visit family in Manhattan but never arrived at his destination. Benis is reported to have mental health issues, officers noted. Fatal accident in Willington under investigation
WILLINGTON – A man from Windsor Locks is dead after a fatal motor vehicle accident in Willington on Tuesday morning. The accident happened at about 5:52 a.m. According to State Police, Jeffrey Benis, 55, of Windsor Locks, had been traveling northbound on River Road (Route 32) in Willington when his Mack 600 CHU went to the right of the road for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole off the shoulder. The vehicle then continued back across the roadway and left a portion of the road striking a guardrail off the southbound shoulder. Benis was transported by Stafford Ambulance to Rockville General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The accident remains under investigation.
