HONG KONG: Popular actor Benjamin Yeung has died at the age of 43. In a social media statement, his brother announced that Yeung passed away peacefully at 4.20am on Aug 11, surrounded by his family and close friends. The cause of death has not been disclosed. "He left this world without pain, in serenity," the statement read. The family expressed their deep gratitude to everyone who had supported Yeung throughout his life, adding that he was blessed to have their love and companionship, which they described as the most precious part of his journey. The statement continued: "Now, he is free from all suffering and has returned to the embrace of our father and Heavenly Father, where he has found eternal peace." It concluded with a final tribute: "May my brother rest in peace, and may all who loved him hold onto his warm smile in their hearts." According to the Hong Kong news portal HK01, Yeung first gained recognition in 1997 after winning a Leon Lai impersonation contest. In the 2000s, he signed with the talent management agency Emperor Entertainment Group, appearing in an advertisement with popular artiste Joey Yeung. After leaving the label, Yeung shifted his focus to dancing, forming the dance group Bro5. Following the group's disbandment, he returned to acting and achieved success with his role in the 2017 film 29+1.
