Heart-stopping new footage emerges of Jordan Spieth ‘almost ending a fan's life' as golf shot goes badly wrong

JORDAN SPIETH "almost ended a fan's life" when his golf shot went completely wrong. Spieth, 31, played at the Memorial Tournament at Muifield Village Golf Club this weekend. 4 4 He finished in T7 on one-under-par, nine adrift of runaway winner Scottie Scheffler. PGA Championship champ and world No1 Scheffler was immediately congratulated by wife Meredith on the 18th green - and was handed his one-year-old son Bennett who had what appeared to be a poo stain on his baby grow. But it was Spieth who also may have needed a change of underwear after things very nearly went horribly wrong on the very first hole of Sunday's final round. The three-time major winner hit his tee shot well right into the rough. But his recovery shot out of the thick cut came scarily close to ending in a tragic disaster. Video footage showed the American lining up the shot in an awkward stance with the ball well above his feet. And as he makes the connection, the ball hurtled at rapid speed straight towards the large group of golf fans stood behind a rope to his right - rather than heading for the green as intended. The fans in direct line of the ball were forced to take emergency cover. The commentator said: "Goodness me. He was full of confidence but never got the connection at all. "Hopefully everyone is okay. Jordan, what are you doing?" Thankfully, the fans somehow managed to get out of harm's way in time and avoided any serious injuries as Spieth recovered to make par. But fans took to social media to express their shock and concern about the worrying incident - as fears grow for spectator safety. One said: "Spieth almost killing a fan on the first hole." Another wrote: "This view of Jordan Spieth almost ending a fan's life is crazy. "It's wild that more serious injuries or even deaths don't happen on tour. Fans have zero fear, even when it's a tough shot." A third added: "Spieth nearly decapitates a fan." And a final user commented: "People are way too trusting when trying to get a closer look at pros. "When Jordan was preparing for the shot I was thinking, those people could be in path of the ball. "The PGA and tournaments needs to reconsider how position fans on shots like that." 4 4

Scottie Scheffler living ‘peak dad life' as he's handed baby son with ‘poop stain' immediately after winning £3million

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER cruised to another title at the Memorial Open - before being hit with the realities of parenthood. The 28-year-old defended his crown in Ohio with a four-stroke victory over Ben Griffin. 2 2 Scheffler sealed a third career major at last month's USPGA Championship. And he continued his stunning form at Muirfield Village, posting -10 across his four rounds to bag the £3million prize pot. Scheffler celebrated on the 18th green with wife Meredith and their one-year-old son Bennett. The World No1 was handed his son minutes after sinking the winning putt. But eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but notice Scheffler Jr. was in need of a nappy change. Bennett had suffered an unfortunate blowout, with what appeared to be a large poo stain spotted on the back of his baby grow. Reposting the viral image, golf writer Kyle Porter quipped: "Winning a golf tournament for $4 million and your wife handing you a baby with a poop stain square in the middle of his back is peak dad life." One fan laughed in response: "This is what peak male performance looks like." BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Another said: "He's just like us." While a third joked: "2 blow outs in 1 day…the Scheffler's are unstoppable." Five-time winner Woods retained the crown between 1999 and 2001. Scheffler has now bagged more than £7m in prize money since Rory McIlroy's Masters triumph in April. His latest win has come less than two weeks before the start of the US Open. Scheffler said: "It's pretty cool. "It's always a hard week. It's so challenging to play this tournament. Ben made things interesting down the stretch. "Overall, it was a great week."

Scottie Scheffler's son Bennett suffers hilarious bathroom mishap as golf star wins Memorial Tournament

Scottie Scheffler secured yet another $4million payday with victory at the Memorial Tournament - but the world No 1 was quickly brought back down to earth by his son Bennett. Scheffler won by four stokes at Muirfield Village before being handed his one-year-old son, who had an unfortunate brown stain on his clothes. 'He has poop all over his back,' the golf star's wife Meredith can be heard telling Scheffler in hilarious footage. 'That'll happen,' the world No 1 says with a smile before inspecting the damage. The stain was also visible when Scheffler conducted a post-round interview with CBS reporter Amanda Balionis. Balionis uploaded a photograph of their interview on to social media and wrote alongside the post: 'Sorry Bennett about posting your blowout... mom and dad can use this as blackmail when you're older' Scheffler had to fight back tears during their interview, when he was asked about Meredith's support in his bid to be a better golfer, father and husband. Winning with family ❤️🥹 — Golf on CBS ⛳ (@GolfonCBS) June 1, 2025 The stain was also visible when Scheffler conducted an interview with CBS' Amanda Balionis 'You're really trying to make me emotional now,' a choked-up Scheffler said while holding Bennett in his arms. 'My wife is my biggest supporter, she's my best friend... I definitely couldn't do it without her.' A few minutes earlier, Meredith had told Scheffler that Bennett had 'so much fun' watching his final round, when he joined Tiger Woods as the only repeat winners of the Memorial. Scheffler underwent hand surgery at the start of the year after a freak cooking accident. But he now appears to be back to his best, with the PGA Championship already in the bag and another major around the corner at the U.S. Open. 'It's always a hard week,' said Scheffler, who finished at 10-under 278. 'We battled really hard on the weekend. Overall it was a great week.' On one of the tougher PGA Tour tests of the year, Scheffler made one bogey over the final 40 holes at Muirfield Village. 'Well, you did it again,' tournament host Jack Nicklaus told him walking off the green. Scheffler has now won three of his past four tournaments.

Scottie Scheffler's Wife Meredith Scheffler Gets Strong Message From PGA Tour Golfer

Scottie Scheffler's Wife Meredith Scheffler Gets Strong Message From PGA Tour Golfer originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Scottie Scheffler's wife Meredith Scheffler was a fan of the PGA Tour star long before the golfer was rising up leaderboards. Meredith and the couple's son Bennett have become fan favorites given their constant presence at PGA Tour tournaments. Advertisement Scottie is now a two-time Masters champion and recently reflected on his anxiety before ultimately winning his first green jacket in 2022. The PGA Tour golfer admitted to "crying a lot" ahead of the final round, but it was Meredith who was a calming presence. "I've worked my whole life to have a chance to win the Masters, and I was a bit overwhelmed," Scottie told Rolex during a May 19, interview. "I remember crying a lot. Just because I was able to sit there with my wife. She's my biggest supporter. She knows me better than anybody." Scottie Scheffler poses for a photo with his wife Meredith and son Bennett after winning the PGA Championship golf tournament at Quail Dedmon-Imagn Images "She saw me go from being a fairly anonymous player on the (PGA Tour) to being No. 1 in the world. And going to have a chance to win my first major," Scottie continued. "She kind of reminded me why I go out to play. If I lost that day, she loves me the same. It's the same for my family, and I get emotional because I really believe that." Advertisement The high school sweethearts have been married since Dec. 4, 2020. Their longtime relationship dates back to their time at Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. Now that Scottie has won three majors, hopefully the anxiety has subsided before marquee rounds. Regardless, Scottie's relationship with his wife Meredith while raising their son Bennett continues to be a major part of his success. Nike references Scottie Scheffler's arrest in ad after PGA Championship win

Nike made a clever reference to Scottie Scheffler's 2024 arrest in an ad celebrating his PGA Championship triumph. Scheffler, who was arrested while making his way into Valhalla Golf Club for the very same tournament last year, completed an astonishing story by going on to win it one year later. The current world No. 1 recovered from a brief scare early on in his final round to eventually capture his third major championship, before planting a kiss on his wife, Meredith, and hugging their one-year-old son, Bennett. The verdict is in. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the PGA Champion. — Nike (@Nike) May 18, 2025 And not long after his poetic triumph, Nike released an ad poking fun at Scheffler's PGA Championship arrest last year. At the top of a photo of him teeing off, the global sports brand wrote alongside its famous logo: 'Best player in the world? Guilty.' Nike shared its ad on X and also included the caption: 'The verdict is in. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the PGA Champion.' Scheffler, 28, was arrested outside Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky before the second round of last year's PGA Championship. Amid a traffic pileup outside the club - following a fatal accident earlier that morning - the two-time Masters champion was accused of ignoring police orders to pull over his vehicle and instead speeding away, which allegedly dragged Louisville Detective Bryan Gillis to the ground and left him with both minor cuts and torn pants. Scheffler was handcuffed and taken away by cops before his second round and was booked into jail on four criminal charges - including second-degree assault of a police officer. All charges against Scheffler were eventually dropped, though he later took legal action himself after his claim that the incident was simply one big misunderstanding was said to be 'corroborated by the evidence'. After opening this year's tournament with a two-under 69, Scheffler shot a 68 in the second round before a six-under on Saturday saw him open up a three-shot lead heading into Sunday. He was even on the final day of the tournament, which still proved to be more than enough as Jon Rahm - who briefly led on Saturday - shoot two-over on the final day and wound up tied for eighth place. Following the win, an impassioned Scheffler threw his hat to the ground in celebration before making his way over to Meredith and Bennett. The family-of-three embraced during a heartwarming moment before Scheffler and Meredith shared a kiss. Scheffler also shared a touching moment with his parents, as his father beamed with pride for his son. 'Words can't describe what we just watched,' his father could be heard saying. 'You are the toughest guy, and the sweetest boy. I'm so proud of you. Thank you for never giving up, Scottie.'
