Virat Kohli's explanation for liking Avneet Kaur's pic backfires as fake screenshots go viral: Fans joke Anushka 'pressured' him

Recently, social media was abuzz with a controversy involving cricketer Virat Kohli, actress Avneet Kaur, and a sultry picture that made waves across platforms. The incident began when it was revealed that Kohli had liked a bold picture of Kaur that was posted by her fan page. The incident quickly snowballed into an all-out social media frenzy, especially because it occurred on the birthday of his wife, actress Anushka Sharma. Soon after the screenshot of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru star's 'like' went viral, many users began criticising Kohli for what they perceived as inappropriate behaviour. The fact that the 'like' came on such a significant day for his wife only fueled the fire, with fans accusing him of disrespecting Anushka. The online reception of the incident became so intense that Virat, who rarely ever posts on social media, felt compelled to address the situation directly, offering a public statement to clear the air. But it seems like Kohli's explanation made the matter worse, with social media users taking a dig at his explanation. In fact, fake screenshots pretending to be shared from Kohli's official account started spreading on X (formerly Twitter). Fake screenshots posing as Virat Kohli's Instagram stories go viral amid Avneet Kuar controversy Shortly after Virat Kohli shared an explanation on the Avneet Kaur incident, Fake screenshots pretending to be shared from his account have gone viral on social media. One claimed Kohli admitted to liking the post on purpose, while another suggested he did it after being "pressured" by Anushka. One of these fake screenshots was also shared on the Reddit subreddit r/BollyBlindsNGossip, dedicated to celebrity gossip. A user posted a screenshot that appeared to be from Virat Kohli's Instagram account, featuring an image of popular anime characters Guts and Casca from Berserk, with Virat and Anushka's faces morphed onto them. The user captioned it, asking, "Is this legit?" Fans believe Virat Kohli's explanation made the matter worse Many fans believe that Virat Kohli's story only made things worse. Before his clarification, most people weren't even aware of his like, which he claims was accidental. Critics argued that someone with a social media following as massive as Virat's shouldn't have to explain something so trivial, as mistakes like this can happen to anyone. One user said, "One like can create soo much drama. Bas karo." Another user said, "I feel bad for laughing at this but his story made it so much worse lol 😂 why couldn't he ignore??" Another wrote, "The entire incident is hilarious! And the clarification statement issued is even more hillarious ! Meta should now release a statement saying 'Kohli bhai, popat RCB ke fans ko banao! We don't go into other's profiles and keep liking thirst trap pictures for them!' Virat Kohli's explanation on liking Avneet Kaur's pic After a social media frenzy, Kohli issued a clarification regarding the accidental 'like' on Avneet Kaur's post. He explained that while clearing his feed, the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. Kohli emphasised that there was absolutely no intent behind it and requested that no unnecessary assumptions be made. He thanked his followers for their understanding.

Diablo 4 Season 8 start time and everything new that's coming with the seasonal update

The delayed Season 8 of Diablo 4 is finally upon us, as we say goodbye to the Season of Witchcraft next week. The new season of Diablo 4 starts next week, and brings a new IP collab with it alongside the usual fare of seasonal content we've come to expect. Diablo 4 Season 8 starts next week, with Belial's return setting players up for a revamped boss ladder system, a new Berserk collab, new Boss powers to collect for the seasonal mechanic, a new questline, and a new battle pass system among a host of other changes. ‌ Activision Blizzard 's selling point for the new battle pass system – officially called Reliquaries – is that you can claim the rewards in whatever order you like, similar to the overhauled Warzone and CoD battle passes that Activision pivoted to with the release of Warzone 2.0. ‌ Reactions to the impending system tweaks have been mixed, with the Diablo 4 2025 roadmap also being something of a swing and a miss, thanks to a lack of fresh content this year, and most of the major changes landing in 2026. But there's still lots to tuck into when Diablo 4 Season 8 starts, and here's a rundown of what Season 8 has to offer: A new questline New NPC: Sayeena a retired Vizjerei mage New NPC: Jarius, who claims to be a Cathedral of Light knight 24 Boss Powers New Apparition Incursion event Three-tier Lair Boss system replacing Ladder Bosses New Legendary and Unique items New Reliquariy Battle Pass Seasonal rewards including Iris the Cat pet It's mostly the usual fare we see with the dawn of a new season in terms of seasonal mechanics and rewards, with the Lair Bosses and new Reliquary system being the major tweaks. But when exactly does Diablo 4 Season 8 start? Here's what you need to know. Diablo 4 Season 8 start time Diablo 4 Season 8 starts at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST on Tuesday, April 29 as confirmed by Blizzard in a blog post. This is in line with past season start times and is generally when the developer deploys major updates to the games. The new season was set to start mid-April initially, but Diablo general manager, Rod Fergusson, confirmed a two-week delay in a tweet back in February, that saw the end of Diablo 4 Season 7 pushed back from Tuesday, April 15 to Tuesday, April 29. The extra time was was attributed to Diablo 4 Season 8 taking "a couple of weeks longer to bake anticipated". As with most seasons so far, this one is expected to run for three months, taking us through to the end of July, which is when we'll see Season 9 and the promised keyboard and mouse support roll out for console.
