16 Colorado ambulatory surgery centers named among nation's best: US News & World Report

DENVER (KDVR) — The U.S. News & World Report released its 2025 ratings for the Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the United States and Denver was among the metropolitan areas with the most recognized 'Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers.' Ambulatory surgery centers are categorized as same-day surgical care centers that perform procedures such as colonoscopies, cataract and glaucoma surgeries, hip and knee replacements and more. Photos: Denver NWSL to build new 14,500 seat soccer stadium For the survey, U.S. News and & World evaluated 4,357 surgery centers on their performance in four specialty services including: Colonoscopy and endoscopy Ophthalmology Orthopedics and spine Urology The criteria the surgery centers were graded on included: Objective Risk-adjusted measures for patients' outcomes Avoiding complications ER visits Unplanned hospitalizations Undesirable outcomes 'U.S. News' 2025 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers ratings highlight the top performing surgery centers in the procedures evaluated, giving consumers the confidence to make informed, data-driven decisions when choosing an ASC,' said Chelsey Wen, senior health data analyst at U.S. News in a press release. Out of the 4,357 centers evaluated, only about 17% earned the Best Ambulatory Surgery Center rating. That 17% equates to only 740 centers earning the rating. Out of 102 centers in Colorado, 16 centers were recognized. Around the Denver metro area, 11 out of the 61 centers earned the claim. The Ambulatory Surgery Centers that earned the Best rating included: Arapahoe Endoscopy Center, Littleton — Colonoscopy and endoscopy Audubon Ambulatory Surgery Center, Colorado Springs — Orthopedics and spine Black Canyon Surgical Center, Montrose — Ophthalmology, orthopedics and spine Boulder Medical Center ASC, Boulder — Colonoscopy and endoscopy Canyon View Surgery Center, Grand Junction — Orthopedics and spine Cherry Hills Surgery Center, Englewood — Ophthalmology Colorado Urologic Surgery Center, Lone Tree — Urology Golden Ridge Surgery Center, Golden — Orthopedics and spine HealthONE Ridge View Endoscopy Center, Lone Tree — Colonoscopy and endoscopy Highline South Ambulatory Surgery Center, Littleton — Urology Optumcare Colorado ASC, Colorado Springs — Colonoscopy and endoscopy Pikes Peak Endoscopy and Surgery Center, Colorado Springs — Colonoscopy and endoscopy Rose Surgical Center, Denver — Colonoscopy and endoscopy, orthopedics and spine South Denver Endoscopy Center, Englewood — Colonoscopy and endoscopy South Denver Surgery Center, Littleton — Orthopedics and spine Southwest Endoscopy Center, Durango — Colonoscopy and endoscopy JetBlue flight to Denver diverted back to Boston for 'potential hydraulics issue' The states with the most Best ratings included: California(95); Florida(64); Texas(54). The metro areas with the most rated centers included: Los Angeles(39); New York(38); Phoenix and Baltimore(19).
