Taylor Swift's dad recovering from heart surgery
Taylor Swift's father, Scott, is recovering from heart surgery.
The quintuple bypass procedure took place over a month ago and Scott Swift has had a positive recovery, Swift's rep confirmed. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Swift, 73, initially went in for a routine medical check-up when doctors identified an issue that required surgical intervention, though he did not have a heart attack. His wife of 37 years, Andrea, and children Taylor and Austin supported him through the surgery and his subsequent recovery.
Swift's father – who is known for having a pocket full of guitar picks to hand out to fans – has been an ardent supporter of his daughter since the debut days in Nashville.

Quintuple bypass surgery is performed to address severe blockages in the coronary arteries by grafting blood vessels from other parts of the body to restore healthy blood flow to the heart.

On Swift's second album, in her song "Best Day," she references how Scott is "an excellent father, his strength is making me stronger."
Before the Eras Tour, Swift shared to her Instagram story a pass she drew that said, "D.O.H. Pass, Dad of Headliner (All Access)." Scott attended many of her shows in the states and abroad.
Following her New Orleans' Eras Tour concerts, he boarded a Southwest flight and sat next to Taylor Moore who posted a six minute video to TikTok explaining the encounter.
Swift gushed to Moore about his daughter, how proud he is and how he loves her relationship with Travis Kelce.
Moore said he told her, "Out of all of (Taylor's) boyfriends in the last 12 years, Travis has made the biggest impact."
In a follow-up video, she added that Scott loves the term "Tayvoodoo" and how people believe his daughter can magically impact football games.
