Kuwait's Mohammed Daham attracts interest from Iraq's Ramadi

BAGHDAD, July 13: Iraqi media have reported that Ramadi Club has submitted a lucrative offer to sign Mohammed Daham, the standout player for both Kuwait Club and the Kuwaiti national team, ahead of the upcoming season. Ramadi, which competes in the Iraqi Premier League, is aiming for promotion to the top-tier Professional League (Stars League) and views Daham as a key reinforcement in that pursuit. Daham joined Kuwait Club two seasons ago from Al-Nasr and has since made a significant impact in the Kuwaiti league. His performances have earned him multiple Best Player of the Round awards, as well as the prestigious Best Player of the Season honor. He has also impressed with Al-Azraq, solidifying his reputation as one of Kuwait's top talents. Despite Ramadi's strong interest, the offer is expected to be declined. Daham remains a vital figure for Kuwait Club, especially as the club looks to defend its domestic titles in the upcoming season.

Achraf Hakimi Nominated for Best Player in French League for 2024/2025 Season

Rabat – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Achraf Hakimi has been nominated for the Best Player of the Season award in France's Ligue 1 for 2024/2025. The French National Union of Professional Footballers announced the nomination today. PSG's Moroccan right-back has been in outstanding form this season. He has to date played 44 matches in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 14 assists. His consistently strong performances have helped PSG win the Ligue 1 title, reach the final of the French Cup, and make it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they beat Arsenal this week in a highly anticipated first leg. The defender is competing for the award with his PSG teammates Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, and Vitinha, as well as Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyon. If he wins, Hakimi would be the first Moroccan player to ever receive this honor. The award has been dominated in recent years by Kylian Mbappé, who won it four times in a row while playing for PSG before joining Real Madrid. Another Moroccan player, Younès Belhanda, came close to winning the award in the 2011-2012 season, finishing second. Hakimi has built an impressive career, earning numerous accolades at both club and international levels with Morocco. In addition, he has been recognized as one of the top footballers globally. He was named Arab Sportsman of the Year in 2022 at the Joy Awards in Riyadh. In 2024, he received the prestigious Golden Lion award, honoring him as Africa's best footballer. He was also included in the FIFA FIFPRO World 11 in 2022 and has consistently featured in various Team of the Year selections by CAF and IFFHS. Tags: Achraf HakimiFootballFrance
