Gallery: Peter Kay fans turn out for sold-out comedy show at P&J Live
Funnyman Peter Kay entertained a sold-out P&J Live when he brought his latest comedy show to Aberdeen. Fans travelled to the Granite City for the most northernly stops on the Better Late Than Never (Again) tour over the past two nights. There was much anticipation for the comedian's Aberdeen dates – marking his debut at the arena. And he did not disappoint. Laughter was ever present throughout the two-act show which featured many throwbacks to his classic stand-up routines. As to be expected from Kay, he combined observational comedy with 'nostalgia and naughtiness', much to the delight of the crowd. The Bolton funnyman will return to P&J Live to do it all over again in March next year.

Peter Kay speaks out after kicking out hecklers who ‘spoiled' show
Peter Kay and the hecklers who were kicked out of one of the comedian's gigs have responded after the Pheonix Nights star accused a small group of people of "spoiling the show." Three hecklers were booted out of the funnyman's Better Late Than Never (Again) gig over the weekend at AO Arena, in Manchester. The comedian also courted controversy when he compared one of the people he kicked out to Emmerdale actor Lisa Riley. One of the hecklers, Phillip Peters, has spoken out since he was thrown out with his son at the gig for shouting "garlic bread" — one of Kay's catchphrases. The woman at the centre of Kay's Riley remark, 25-year-old Myar Curran, has also spoken out. In an interview on Tuesday, she admitted she cried in her hotel room after being kicked out of the gig. She told The Manchester Evening News: "I do feel he was on about my weight. I know Lisa Riley has lost a lot of weight and looks great but she used to be a bit bigger. I didn't used to be this big, I have put a bit of weight on, I've had a child. "I'm self-conscious about that so to go to a show and feel like you're having the mick taken out of you because of your weight, I was just a bit shocked. I'm annoyed and upset about it. The whole arena was laughing, I think they thought it was part of the show but there was a nastiness to his voice. It was like he was trying to get the crowd against me — it just wasn't nice, to be honest. "I did have a cry about it after I got to the hotel room. I was just so upset. It was just a very rubbish situation. My whole family was disgusted by it." Here is what we know about what happened at the Peter Kay gig and the fallout, including Riley's response to the comedian mentioning her. In a statement to Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, Kay said it was "no longer fair" on the rest of the audience who have paid to see him when hecklers interrupt the gig. After kicking out the woman he called Riley, he said in a statement: "I didn't realise it was an insult. She did look remarkably like Lisa Riley, I didn't realise that was an insult." The Good Morning Britain hosts said that Kay "felt he had no option but to remove the hecklers and said they were spoiling the show". The statement continued: "There comes a point when dealing with repeated hecklers simply isn't enough. It's not something you ever want to do but it becomes a point when it's no longer fair to everyone around." Yahoo has reached out to Peter Kay's representatives for further comment. A leaked video appearing to show the moment that Kay threw out the hecklers has surfaced on social media on Tuesday capturing how all the drama went down at the gig. "Kick him in the f***ing face will ya," the comedian was heard saying in the video. "Everyone around him will be thinking p****. Next time someone says penny for your thoughts... K***head. We get it. We get it. Garlic bread Peter." Then the funnyman asked his security guard, Keith, to "drag him out". "Everyone point to who he is," he said. "Put lights on. It's not him Keith. It's up there. Put on a light on I want to see this. Point to him. Where is he? Give us a wave k***head. He's taking you out! Take him out. Look at him. He doesn't even know where he is. It's not a joke you are going out." Kay started to sing "you're going out" as the security guard found the heckler responsible for shouting "garlic bread". Then the comedian chanted "garlic dead" back at the heckler as he was escorted out of the venue. "He's not happy now is he?" He said. "Here we go. Yes! Oh look at him. He can't see colours. He's saying, 'What?' There he goes. Garlic dead... He's shocked, saying, 'What have I done?' Garlic dead." The gig descended into further chaos when a woman started shouting "we love you". "Bloody hell," Kay responded. "Take her out and all as well while you're up there. Is she a nightmare? Keith! Keith! Take that other woman out there. They're all complaining about her as well... You've upset every bugger out there. You've missed the end. You're f***ing big gob. Go on Lisa Riley. F*** off. Out you pop. See ya! You've upset everybody." The comedian asked everyone around her to put their hands up if they found the heckler "f***ing annoying". "There's about 40, you can't argue with that," he said. "There you go. Tar-rah darling. Thanks so much. No refunds. Out you pop. Anyway..." Finally, Kay was able to return to his comedy sketch about kidney stones. Warehouse driver Peter Phillips, 54, was evicted alongside his son, 26, after repeatedly shouting "garlic bread". Peters told MailOnline that he couldn't understand why he had been thrown out for only shouting "garlic bread". "It was me who shouted out 'garlic bread'," he told the newspaper. "A lot of people just stood up and walked out when they saw how we were dragged out. "In the first half of the show, I shouted out 'garlic bread' and they zoomed in on the camera on me. And I put my thumbs up and thought everything was okay. I got no warning or anything, people around us were laughing and joking. "Then in the second half of the show, I said it again, 'garlic bread', and that's when the security guards came over to me and said, 'You are going to have to leave — Peter Kay doesn't like people shouting out.'" After Kay spoke out to say he did not mean comparing the female heckler to Riley as an insult, the real actor addressed the comment on social media. The TV personality said she was not offended and remains a big fan of Kay's comedy. She said in a statement on Instagram on Tuesday: "Please draw a line under this now, I am not offended, never was offended. I love Peter Kay to pieces. Laughter is my favourite medicine."

Good Morning Britain viewers issue the same complaint minutes into 'pointless' debate
Good Morning Britain viewers issued the same complaint minutes into a "pointless" debate on Tuesday (February 11). The ITV news show ran a poll asking whether comedian Peter Kay was right to eject two hecklers from his Manchester gig on Saturday. The star was in the middle of performing his Better Late Than Never (Again) tour at the AO Arena when a man in the audience started repeatedly shouting "garlic bread" at him - one of Peter's famous catchphrases. Another woman then started shouting that she "loved" Peter, disrupting the show even further. After receiving a unanimous reaction from the frustrated crowd, security quickly removed the noisy pair. As they were escorted out, Peter reportedly said: "Go on, off you go, Lisa Riley" - comparing the woman to the Emmerdale star. During today's edition of GMB, hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls mediated a debate between two guests who heavily disagreed over the topic. However, the show's viewers were unimpressed by the segment, and many took to social media to share their frustrations. "This is the most pointless debate. Get the weather on," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added: "Seriously, do you need a poll for this? Come on, GMB news." "Hecklers, no, but if you're continually interrupting the show to the detriment of others, yes. As normal, a common sense approach isn't newsworthy!" a third viewer fumed. Meanwhile, another fan weighed in on the debate: "A couple of heckles yes, but when it takes over the show it's boring! Some people go too far and it ruins it for everyone else." The Better Late Than Never tour began in December 2022 and recently celebrated its 100th show in Manchester. Since then, more dates have been added to the tour, which now runs until February 2026. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am

'Doesn't sit right with me' - Peter Kay fans divided as heckler removed from show
Peter Kay fans have been left divided after he had a heckler removed from his stand-up show. The comedian was performing at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday (February 8) as part of his Better Late Than Never (Again) tour. This is an extension of his Better Late Than Never tour that started in 2022, after a hiatus of six years. When he was on stage a man towards the front of the audience at the AO Arena began repeatedly shouting 'garlic bread!' at high volume, The Metro reports. The catchphrase comes from a famous bit of Kay's stand-up. It was then reported that during one of Kay's routines midway through the live show, a woman nearby shouted that she 'loved' Kay and disrupted the show further. Those in the audience then said that Kay stopped his routine to ask the audience if the two hecklers were beginning to get on their nerves. When the audience shouted back that they were indeed irritated by the unexpected interruptions, the noisy pair were swiftly ejected by security. As the pair were being escorted out, Kay is reported to have said 'Go on, off you go, Lisa Riley' – comparing the woman to the former Emmerdale actress. Plenty of Peter Kay's fans were in support of the decision to remove the hecklers, but some weren't so sure about it. Posting on X (formerly known as Twitter) one person wrote: "Doesn't sit right with me, really unsettling and killed the atmosphere in the arena. I thought it was part of the show at first then when it appeared to actually not be, the language and behaviour of @peterkay_co_uk was completely inappropriate and unacceptable." Another said: "We were sat in front of the guy. He shouted garlic bread about 4 times, as a professional comedian, he should have handled the situation better, the woman only said she loved him! Comedian Peter Kay threw two hecklers out of his Manchester gig at the weekend. One man was removed after he allegedly kept shouting 'garlic bread' and a woman was also ejected after she yelled 'we love you'. But should hecklers be kicked out of gigs? — Good Morning Britain (@GMB) February 11, 2025 "They weren't heckling him or swearing, the guy said Garlic Bread". A third posted: "We were sat close by and they weren't annoying at all. Just a couple of people having a laugh and showing their support. Massively embarrassing from Peter Kay, very very harsh and showed his true colours." However, not everyone shared these sentiments, as another claimed: "They were both totally pissed I should know I was sat in the area they were both in. People were cheering him for throwing out the heckler. He was being a p**** interrupting the show and it had to be done."
