Saumya Tandon shares 5 things that have helped improve her eating habits: ‘I have never done dieting in my life'

After sharing that she has not consumed sugar for many years now, actor Saumya Tandon recently acknowledged how her eating habits have helped her maintain a healthy weight and overall well-being. 'I have never done dieting in my life. Never. I don't believe in dieting,' she shared on Instagram, further listing 'five things that have really helped me, which I have included in my eating habits'. What does her morning-to-evening routine look like? 'I take one tablespoon of ghee with a pinch of turmeric and black pepper powder as the first thing in the morning. You can warm up the ghee, too. It takes care of inflammation,' the Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actor added. Another habit she religiously follows is being off sugar. 'All of you also know that I don't take honey, sugar, or jaggery, which is a game-changer. Trust me,' said Tandon, 40. Apart from that, she takes 'one large glass of warm water with grated ginger'. 'It is very alkaline and helps my gut,' she said. As a vegetarian, many people struggle to fulfill their protein needs. 'Especially if you are exercising. We should all have protein. Be watchful…I ensure I have protein throughout the day,' shared Tandon. She also consumes 5 soaked almonds, pista, and walnut.' I also have one Brazilian night in the evening. I eat one teaspoon of pumpkin and sunflower seeds after workout, which are a great source of Omega 3, 6,' said Tandon. Another game-changer has been finishing dinner before 7 pm. 'It takes care of your bloating. It doesn't give you weight. It keeps your belly in control. These are the things which have really helped me,' said Tandon. Calling the actor's approach 'a wonderful example of how simple, mindful food habits go a long way in maintaining health,' clinical dietitian Garima Goyal noted that dieting isn't about restriction, it's about consistency in what you choose daily. 'Starting the morning with ghee, turmeric, and black pepper is a smart anti-inflammatory ritual. Eliminating sugar is truly transformative for blood sugar balance, cravings, and even long-term hormonal health. As a vegetarian, her focus on protein is very important as many vegetarians overlook this, which impacts energy and metabolism,' said Goyal. Including nuts and seeds daily is a small but powerful addition. 'Rich in omega-3s, minerals, and antioxidants, they support skin, hair, and heart health. And finishing dinner early is one of the most underrated habits for digestion, weight management, and even better sleep quality,' said Goyal. A post shared by Saumya Tandon (@saumyas_world_) According to Goyal, her practices are rooted in traditional wisdom yet perfectly align with modern nutrition science. 'They are sustainable, realistic, and something that many people can incorporate without feeling restricted,' said Goyal. South African actress TeKayha Sukuram makes her mark on Indian television

TeKayha Anastasia Sukuram on set of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Image: Suppled IN A BLEND of talent and cultural exchange, a South African actress has taken a bold leap onto one of the world's most vibrant entertainment stages, Indian television. Venturing far from home, TeKayha Anastasia Sukuram, a former Zee TV Miss India South Africa winner, embraced the languages, and storytelling traditions of India to play a role in a locally produced show, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. The 23-year-old recently began sharing videos on TikTok of her experiences working on set and behind the scenes. Sukuram was born in Johannesburg but now resides in Umhlanga. She has a Bcom accounting degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal but currently works as a marketing executive. Despite her love for acting, it is not her full-time job but she hopes it will be in the future. 'I've always had a love for acting and movies from the time I was a little, but it was not until early 2020, when I was 18, that I started to actually put focus and effort into it. "That year, I was invited to represent our country in New York City at the world's largest talent convention. And in 2023, my acting career started after I was crowned Zee TV Miss India South Africa. The prize was the opportunity to be a part of a Zee TV production. Due to me being a professional actress, dancer and my ability to speak Hindi, Zee TV sent me to Mumbai, India, to act in one series and co-host another." Video Player is loading. Image: Supplied Sukuram featured in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, a Hindi TV series about two neighbours. "The husbands of both the houses try to impress each other's wives, which leads to a series of humorous incidents. The series has been airing for 10 years and is popular in both India and South Africa.' In the series, the producers used Sukuram's real name. 'The storyline of my character makes for interesting viewing. I play a bride and the new wife. My character travels all the way from Durban to Kanpur and ends up marrying one of the lead characters." She said she spoke a majority of Hindi in the show with a bit of English. Sukuram also co-hosted Hamara Parivar, a reality show, where she goes around Mumbai asking viewers their thoughts about different series and characters. "In Hamara Parivar, audiences can expect a lot of behind the scenes insight into the making of some of their favorite Zee TV shows, co-hosted by me. Both shows, with my episodes, are currently airing and can be watched on Zee TV (DSTV channel 452), The Zee 5 app and YouTube.' TeKayha Anastasia Sukuram shooting her final scene for Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Image: Supplied 'Apart from the actual shooting, there was a bit of pre-production work such as meetings with Zee TV directors, producers and business heads as well as wardrobe fittings. Being on a set in India was a surreal experience. To watch the shows on TV is one thing, but to see the way the scenes are shot in person is totally different. I got to work with seasoned actors." She said what surprised her the most was the speed with which they worked in India. 'The writers for the show write the next scene's script while the current scene is being shot. There were some days where I was on set and only got the scene's script less than 10 minutes before I was supposed to start shooting, so everyone is expected to be able to work fast, adapt and catch on quickly. With this particular experience, I didn't really have to adapt much as there was no language barrier." Sukuram said she had gained many memorable experiences and working in Indian cinema was the ultimate dream. She now hopes to get more acting opportunities in India or South Africa. "I love acting because you are able to live multiple lives in one lifetime, and you are able to evoke emotional responses from the audience through your performance." She will also feature in a South African film called Sugar Cane Boy The Movie, which is yet to be released. THE POST

Nehha Pendse dazzles at Cannes 2025: A tribute to timeless glamour and personal growth

Nehha Pendse made a graceful and powerful statement at her debut Cannes appearance in 2025, turning heads with a look that married timeless sophistication with a distinctly modern edge. The television star, best known for her roles in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai and May I Come In Madam?, described her Cannes ensemble as a tribute to iconic style and a celebration of her personal transformation. Recently, Pendse stepped onto the prestigious red carpet at the Chopard event, marking a dream-come-true moment for the actress. Her ensemble — a sleek black gown designed by Rudraksha Trivedi and Dvivedi — channeled the spirit of old Hollywood glamour with its open neckline and tailored silhouette. The look was elevated by Chopard's signature luxurious jewels, making Pendse a standout at the star-studded festival. 'Since it was Chopard, I wanted to wear something that felt unapologetically glamorous,' she said. 'This black dress just did it all — an open neckline, a fitted silhouette, and that unmistakable air of Old Hollywood.' The actress emphasized the importance of authenticity in fashion, explaining that for her, fashion is not just about wearing trends but owning them with confidence. 'It made me feel powerful yet feminine, classic yet current,' she reflected. 'When the elegance of a timeless look meets the confidence of modern femininity, that's where the magic really happens.' Pendse's look was not just a fashion moment but a symbol of her journey. From starting as a child actor in the 1995 horror series Captain House to earning a loyal fanbase through iconic Hindi TV roles, her Cannes debut was an emotional and empowering milestone. 'In all honesty, the Cannes red carpet expects personality with fashion,' she shared. 'The key is not to lose yourself in the sea of fashion. It was truly a dream come true — a place where the best of cinema and fashion come together. It's overwhelming and absolutely fulfilling to play even a small part in this big story.' With her poised presence and a look that struck a perfect balance between nostalgia and modernity, Nehha Pendse didn't just walk the red carpet — she owned it, leaving behind a memorable impression at Cannes 2025.

Ravi Kishan calls it ‘fortune' as he joins Madhuri Dixit Nene in Ma Behen with Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durga

Basking in the success of Laapataa Ladies (2023) and his popular OTT show Maamla Legal Hai, actor and parliamentarian Ravi Kishan is all set for his next big project. The actor will soon share screen space with Madhuri Dixit Nene in the upcoming film Ma Behen, which goes on floors in May in Mumbai. The film also stars Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durga. 'Bahut hi adbhut role hai in an entertaining film, and people have never seen me in such a character before,' he shares, brimming with excitement. 'Bada rangeen, dilphek, romantic aur rasdaar kirdaar hai yeh!' Directed by Suresh Triveni (Tumhari Sulu fame), the film sees Kishan playing a character from a mohalla who is a big admirer of Madhuri Dixit Nene. When asked if his real-life admiration for Madhuri will reflect on screen, Ravi laughs, 'Madhuri ji has been such a big superstar, and we've all admired her for decades. It's a great feeling. I had the opportunity to work with Sridevi ji, but never with Madhuri ji — so this is a big charm, saubhagya hai ki unke saath kaam karna. Triptii, India's new sensation, is also part of the film, so God-willing, it'll be a beautiful project.' Ravi, who describes himself as being in the best phase of his career, adds, 'Laapataa Ladies became a massive hit, and Maamla Legal Hai was widely loved. The industry now sees me as a capable actor. After 34 years of hard work, good scripts and big banners are finally coming my way.' Reflecting on his journey of over 750 films, he muses, 'Log chal kar aate hain, main reng kar aaya hoon, but it's been anand wala safar.' Currently, Ravi is working on several high-profile projects, including Son of Sardaar 2, the Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai film, Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 and Dhamaal 3, before diving into Ma Behen. On balancing acting and politics, he says, 'Yes, I can manage both my constituency work and shooting well. I am grateful to my party for the liberty they give me. In my second term as an MP, I have also put up the most questions in Parliament.'

Vipin Heero on stepping into the late Deepesh Bhan's shoes as Malkhan Singh in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai: It's strange and challenging

Vipin Hero and Deepesh Bhan Three years after the untimely passing of Deepesh Bhan , the makers of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai have found a replacement for the beloved actor. Vipin Heero has been roped in to portray the new Malkhan Singh. Deepesh tragically passed away from a heart attack in July 2022. Interestingly, Vipin had also stepped in for Deepesh in May I Come In Madam ? following his death. Reflecting on stepping into Deepesh's shoes, Vipin shares, 'This is the second time I'm replacing him. So, the pressure of being compared to him and whether people will accept me was something I had already experienced in the previous show. But yes, everyone on the set of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is very emotional about the character, especially because they were extremely fond of Deepesh bhai. They also felt I resembled him once I was dressed as Malkhan, which made them even more emotional. ' He is currently staying true to Deepesh's portrayal of Malkhan Singh on the show. 'I'm doing my best to replicate his performance, so it doesn't feel forced or like a complete imitation,' he says, adding, 'The team has been very supportive in guiding me to incorporate his elements into my portrayal. I also watched some of Deepesh's videos for a better understanding. While I'm trying not to miss anything he did, once I feel comfortable with the character, I'll add my own touch to avoid making it a direct copy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Google Brain Co-Founder Andrew Ng, Recommends: Read These 5 Books And Turn Your Life Around Blinkist: Andrew Ng's Reading List Undo ' Ask him if it feels strange to step into Deepesh's role for the second time, Vipin responds, 'It's definitely weird. I'm very conscious of playing his character, especially since everyone often talks about and remembers him. People are surprised to see me as Malkhan, and their memories of him come flooding back. It's strange to be compared to someone they loved so much, but I'm happy they've welcomed me as the new Malkhan. It's certainly more challenging stepping into his shoes in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai than in the previous show.' Coincidentally, despite meeting his co-stars from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai on various occasions, Vipin never had the chance to meet Deepesh. He reflects, 'It's strange that I never met him, and now I'm playing two characters that he originally portrayed.'
