Maharashtra state transport earns record revenue of Rs 137cr during Rakshabandhan festival
Mumbai: This year, due to
Raksha Bandhan
and the connected holidays, the state bus corporation earned Rs 137.37 crore from ST buses packed with passengers during the four days from August 8 to 11. Notably, on August 11 alone, the corporation earned Rs 39 crore from passenger transport in a single day.
This is record revenue for the current financial year, an official said.
Every year, MSRTC receives record revenue on two days - Raksha Bandhan and Bhau Beej (Diwali). This is because on these days, there is heavy passenger traffic with brothers visiting sisters or sisters visiting their siblings.
