From Rajakumari to Halli Power; Fresh wave of Kannada serials and reality shows to premiere this August
Viewers are all set to witness a fresh wave of Kannada entertainment as a new General Entertainment Channel (GEC), Zee Power, gears up for its launch this month. Positioned as a vibrant addition to Kannada television, the channel aims to offer viewers a mix of fiction, reality, and devotional content.
Its first slate of shows will begin telecasting from August 25, 2025, following a grand launch event on August 23.
The fiction line-up includes four daily serials, each bringing a distinct theme and narrative style.
Among them is Rajakumari, the story of a spirited and ambitious young woman who moves to the city to pursue her dream of opening a sweet shop. Street-smart and entrepreneurial despite lacking formal education, Rajakumari is expected to strike a chord with audiences.
The show will air every evening at 7:00 PM.
Following at 7:30 PM is Gauri, a drama that explores the sacrifices of a woman deeply devoted to her family's happiness. The narrative delves into her resilience and values, especially when she faces unexpected conflicts — including a tense relationship with her own sister.
At 8:00 PM, viewers will be introduced to Jodi Hakki, which highlights the clash of ideologies between Akshara, a young woman who believes in the power of education, and village head Bhuvaneshwari, who insists money can solve all problems.

The story intensifies when Akshara marries into the antagonist's family, creating an engaging dynamic with her new husband, Rudra.
The 8:30 PM slot belongs to Shubhasya Sheeghram, which follows Shubha, one of four sisters, who takes it upon herself to find a suitable match for her hearing-impaired sibling. Her journey leads her to Yuvaraj Aras, sparking an unconventional bond. The show promises to blend themes of family ties, romance, and the breaking of societal stereotypes.
Beyond fiction, Zee Power is also introducing variety through non-fiction and devotional programming. The reality series Halli Power, hosted by Akul Balaji, will telecast daily from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM, chronicling how urban girls adapt to village life and navigate its challenges. Meanwhile, mornings will feature Bhavishya Darshana (7:30 AM – 9:00 AM), which offers devotional reflections and astrological insights to start the day.
On the channel's vision, Raghavendra Hunsur, Chief Content Officer, said:
'We are forging shows that capture the heart and challenge the mind, weaving the comfort of classic stories with the thrill of modern tales. Our fiction will be crisp and powerful, our reality shows thought-provoking yet entertaining, and our movies will reflect the pulse of the audience.'
Siju Prabhakaran, Chief Cluster Officer – South and West, added:
'We have listened closely to our viewers and understood their desire for more variety, stronger concepts, and content that mirrors their aspirations.
These new shows are designed to be fresh, fast-paced, and full of surprises, appealing to audiences across age groups.'
Bhaskar Iyer, Business Head, emphasised the new beginning:
'Our vision is to create content that excites, inspires, and engages audiences from the very first day. These shows will be high on drama, high on energy, and high on relevance, ensuring that every moment feels worth watching.'
With its launch, the new channel is positioning itself as a new hub for Kannada family entertainment, bringing together ambitious protagonists, thought-provoking social stories, and engaging reality formats, all under one roof.
