Rukhsar Rehman on raising daughter Aisha Ahmed as a single mom: ‘I am at peace, more than proud'

Rukhsar Rehman, who has starred in movies such as Uri: The Surgical Strike, Bheja Fry 2, PK, and Knock Out, recently talked about being a single mother to her daughter, Aisha Ahmed . She said she feels her daughter is sorted in life and is really proud of Aisha. In an interview with The Free Press Journal, Rukshar shared that she felt happy and thankful, not only for herself. She said that if she was not with Aisha somewhere, she would be at peace knowing that her 'bacchi' was sorted, doing well in life, and not involved in things she would not want her to be in. She mentioned being at peace more than proud. When she saw Aisha's projects, the 10–20 second videos she used to make, she felt proud that Aisha was doing so well and noted that she used to do comedy. Rukshar added that if someone asked her to choose acting roles, she would only choose comedy, as she enjoyed it a lot. She reiterated that she was very much at peace as far as Aisha was concerned, which she considered a big thing. The actress added that she had no trouble managing her career and raising Aisha. "For a while, Aisha was with my parents, but after my mother and grandmother passed away, I put her in a boarding school in Nashik, and she enjoyed her growing years there," Rukhsar continued. "I also loved that school." Asad Ahmed, Rukhsar's first husband, had a daughter named Aisha Ahmed. In 2010, Rukshar, who had previously been married, married filmmaker Faruk Kabir following their divorce. The pair filed for divorce in 2023.
