Kernex Micro spurts on bagging Rs 151-cr order from West Central Railway with KEC Intl consortium
Kernex Microsystems (India) surged 4.90% to Rs 1,105.80 after the firm said that it has secured contract worth Rs 151.41 crore from the West Central Railway, in consortium with KEC International. Shares of KEC International rose 0.85% to Rs 838.65 on the BSE. The contract involves the provision of KAVACH, the indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system developed under the 'Make in India' initiative. The project will be implemented on a UHF backbone along with optical fiber cable (OFC), and includes route diversity to ensure reliable and uninterrupted communication. The scope of the project covers key railway sections under the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway, including the Itarsi (excluding)Khandwa (excluding) and Bina (excluding)Ruthiyai routes, along with additional associated segments within the division. The contract, valued at Rs 151.41 crore, is to be executed within a period of 600 days. According to the company, there is no interest of the promoter, promoter group, or group companies in the entity that awarded the contract. Additionally, the contract does not qualify as a related party transaction, and therefore, the question of it being conducted at arms length does not arise. Kernex Microsystems (India) is engaged in the manufacture and sale of safety systems and software services for Railways. KEC International is a global infrastructure Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) major. New rail line between Bhopal and Ramganj Mandi moves forward with key trial
BHOPAL: The Central Circle's Safety Commissioner, Manoj Arora, finalised the commissioning process for the Jarkheda-Shampur section, which forms a crucial part of the new Bhopal-Ramganj Mandi railway line initiative. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The extensive Bhopal-Ramganj Mandi rail project covers 276 km with a budget of Rs 3,035 crore. It includes 111 km from Bhopal to Biaora under Bhopal Division's control, with the remaining distance under Kota Division. Present operations are functioning between Sant Hirdaram Nagar and Nishatpura D Cabin. The recently completed Jarkheda to Shampur stretch measures 11 km. Commissioner Arora conducted a detailed inspection using a motor trolley and evaluated the Jarkheda station premises. He also successfully completed speed trials, reaching 125 km/h in the designated section. Railway officials confirmed: "This rail project will provide direct and seamless rail connectivity between various stations of Bhopal and Kota divisions. This will not only provide convenience to passengers but will also bring efficiency in goods transportation." Key aspects of Bhopal-Ramganj Mandi new line project: - The route connects five districts across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan: Bhopal, Sehore, Rajgarh, Jhalawar, and Kota. - Travel time reduces by 3 hours with improved rail connectivity. - Reduced coal transport expenses to Kalisindh Thermal Power Plant in Jhalawar (Rajasthan). - Route length is 42 km less than Beawar-Jhalawar, saving fuel and time. - Access to Kelkera temple near Ghatoli station improves. - Bhopal division receives Rs 1,255 crore for 111 km rail line and 12 stations. - Expected completion by December 2027.

‘Rail Seva' award honours Bhopal railway division staff, stations
Bhopal: The 'Rail Seva Award 2024' ceremony was organised here on Friday. The event recognised 37 dedicated railway workers from various Bhopal Division departments for their outstanding performance. Besides, 13 stations and depots received the 'Best Performance Shield'. Senior divisional commercial manager Saurabh Kataria explained that this annual event celebrates railway personnel's service dedication and work quality. Staff members, who enhanced railway services, received certificates and insignia during the ceremony. Vande Bharat trains upkeep to be done at Nishatpura
Bhopal: A maintenance facility worth Rs 150 crore for Vande Bharat trains will be set up at the Nishatpura Rail Coach Factory situated near Bhopal junction. This establishment will be integrated into a comprehensive multidisciplinary training centre at Nishatpura, dedicated to training railway staff in various aspects of Vande Bharat operations. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The comprehensive maintenance and training facility at Nishatpura promises to be a significant enhancement to India's railway infrastructure. The facility will serve as an essential centre for Vande Bharat train maintenance and operations. The hub will have the capacity to maintain approximately 10 Vande Bharat trains. The training facility will feature a contemporary laboratory focused on Vande Bharat operations and maintenance, establishing Bhopal as a significant training location for Vande Bharat personnel across India. The Nishatpura facility, scheduled to begin operations next year, will be equipped with amenities including a hostel, canteen, administrative building, library, computer centre, auditorium, and medical room. PRO Bhopal Division, Nawal Agarwal, stated that the tendering process would conclude shortly. "Soon the work will start once the tendering process is over," said Agarwal. The facility will provide training to loco pilots, guards, station managers, and other railway staff in areas including technical operations, signal systems, telecommunications, engineering, accounts, personnel management, stores maintenance, railway systems and traffic management. The facility's laboratory will be equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and simulation systems to provide hands-on training experience. Railway staff will undergo intensive training programmes covering various operational aspects of Vande Bharat trains, including safety protocols and emergency procedures. The establishment of this facility aligns with the Indian Railways' vision to modernise its infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency. It represents a significant step towards building indigenous expertise in managing advanced train systems. Once operational, the facility will contribute significantly to the professional development of railway staff and ensure reliable maintenance of Vande Bharat trains. This investment demonstrates the commitment to advancing India's railway sector through modern infrastructure and skilled personnel.
