For those planning for a career in the domain of healthcare, but are unable to secure MBBS entry, other rewarding options in allied areas were specified by accomplished medical professionals during The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling Fair 2025 in Coimbatore in Wednesday.
Nursing, Food and Nutrition, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy offer opportunities in the clinical side while pharmacy, insurance, finance, advertising and business development, reception, hospital administration.
The placement opportunities for students pursuing programmes in dialysis, radiology technology, and para-medical courses was quite high.
These observations were presented by P. Praveen Raj, Joint Managing Director and CEO of GEM Hospitals and J.S. Bhuvaneshwaran, Director of PSG Super Speciality Hospitals during a discussion on 'Prescribe Your Future' moderated by R. Saravana Kumar, former Chairman of Computer Society of India (Coimbatore) and former Director at Cognizant.
