Cricket has changed quite a bit: Bhuvneshwar Kumar weighs in on Dukes ball debate

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has weighed in on the growing debate over the quality of the Dukes ball being used in the ongoing Test series between India and England. Known for his control and ability to swing the ball both ways, Bhuvneshwar admitted that the ball hasn't offered as much movement as expected this time around and believes it's difficult to pinpoint a single reason behind the Dukes ball came under intense scrutiny during the third Test at Lord's, with several current and former players expressing concerns about its quality. Frequent ball changes and a noticeable lack of swing made it a major talking point in the match. While many have been quick to criticise the manufacturer, Bhuvneshwar offered a more measured view of the situation.'It will be difficult to say what exactly happened. It could be the ball, the wickets, or even the weather. Generally, we don't talk much about the weather, but it is changing due to a number of reasons,' he said in an interview with Sports Today. Bhuvneshwar acknowledged the evolution of the game in recent years, especially with batters becoming increasingly aggressive and unafraid to take on bowlers from the outset. He noted that in such a climate, where batting tends to dominate, bowlers rarely get the recognition they deserve despite putting in tough shifts.'I don't know exactly what the reason is, but of course, yes, cricket has changed quite a bit. Be it playing aggressively or making of the pitches, it has been difficult for the bowlers. Be it the strategy or the performance, bowlers deserve credit, and I feel India are doing great,' he bowlers have had a challenging time in the ongoing series, with England currently leading 2-1 and dominating the fourth Test at Old Trafford. Openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett got the hosts off to a flying start in the first innings with scores of 84 and 94 respectively, once again putting the pressure back on the Indian bowling the series on the line, it is now up to India to produce a fightback. Whether or not the Dukes ball starts to behave differently in the coming days remains to be seen.- EndsMust Watch
