Kid Rock has said he is not involved in "day to day operations" at his Nashville restaurant, where workers without legal status were reportedly shielded from immigration agents earlier this month. Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse was one of three downtown establishments to shut to help workers "avoid detention by ICE agents" during immigration raids on Saturday May 10, Nashville Scene reported last Wednesday. Kitchens also closed at The Diner and Honky Tonk Central during primetime, the newspaper said. Kid Rock said in a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday said he is not involved in running the restaurant and voiced support for ICE enforcement. "Clearly I do not have anything to do with day to day operations at my Honky Tonk - but it's good click bait, I get it," he wrote. "That being said I 100% support getting illegal criminals out of our country no matter where they are. I also like President Trump want to speed up the process of getting GREAT immigrants into our country - LEGALLY!." The 54-year-old, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, has been a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump. In addition to endorsing Trump during his presidential campaigns, including a performance at the 2024 Republican National Convention, he has frequently spoken out on cultural and political issues. Last week, The Tennessean reported that a weeklong operation led by ICE's New Orleans field office resulted in the arrest of nearly 200 immigrants in the Nashville area. This breaking news story will be updated.

After Reported ICE Raids at His Nashville Bar, Kid Rock Says He Supports Deportations ‘No Matter Where They Are'

After reports last week of ICE raids at Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse in Nashville, the rocker took to social media to respond to the story and double down on his support for President Trump's deportation of undocumented immigrants. Responding to a Daily Mail US post on X about how his Nashville bar was the 'next target for Trump's sweeping ICE raids,' Rock started by taking issue with the story using his name for 'click bait.' Last week, The Tennessean reported that the New Orleans field office for ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) had announced a weeklong operation that resulted in the arrest of nearly 200 immigrants in Nashville. On May 14, The Nashville Scene reported that the kitchens at Kid Rock's Honky Tonk and other bars co-owned by Nashville businessman Steve Smith had closed early to avoid ICE raids. Kid Rock has been one of Trump's most vocal supporters over both of his terms as U.S. president, most recently joining him in the Oval Office on March 31 for the signing of an executive order that aims to crack down on scalpers who illegally obtain high-priced concert tickets for resale. During the signing, Rock thanked the president for the order, adding that it's a first step in stopping bots that 'get all the good tickets for your favorite shows they want to go to, and they relist them, sometimes for a 400 to 500% markup.' Kid Rock Distances Himself From His Own Bar After Reported Nashville Ice Raids

Kid Rock seems to have no problem with ICE conducting raids at his Nashville bar, Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse. Over the weekend, according to a story in the Nashville Scene, managers at the location sent home undocumented employees working in their kitchen during an evening rush to avoid raids. Rock is involved with the restaurant — according to a new tweet from Rock himself, largely in name only — while owner Steve Smith leads operations. Rock and Smith overlap in their support of Donald Trump and his immigration policies, despite relying on the immigrants who work in the restaurant. 'Clearly I do not have anything to do with day to day operations at my Honky Tonk – but it's good click bait, I get it,' Rock said on X, responding to a headline that referred to the restaurant as the 'next target for Trump's sweeping ICE raids.' 'That being said I 100% support getting illegal criminals out of our country no matter where they are. I also like President Trump want to speed up the process of getting GREAT immigrants into our country – LEGALLY! It's that simple folks. Speaking with the Scene on condition of anonymity, they said: 'We were already understaffed because of the ICE raids throughout the weekend. Then, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, our manager came back and told anyone without legal status to go home. Events at the Ryman, Ascend, the Savannah Bananas' baseball game all let out, and it was crazy busy. But there was no one in the kitchen to cook the food.' In January, Trump signed a series of executive orders targeting America's immigrant communities. One attempted to end birthright citizenship for children born to parents without at least one permanent-resident status, while another authorized all Department of Justice law enforcement officers to act as immigration officers. ICE raids across the country began almost immediately and have increased in intensity since. Immigrants without criminal records have been targeted, in addition to U.S. citizens being detained and deported. Newark, New Jersey, mayor Ras Baraka was recently arrested at an ICE facility on a trespassing charge, while children who are U.S. citizens have been deported along with their immigrant parents. The Trump administration has shown a continued noncompliance with court orders mandating due process for migrants. At places like Kid Rock's Nashville honky-tonk — regardless of whether its owner and namesake approve — employees seem to be looking out for the immigrants in their communities. Kid Rock's Nashville restaurant sends staff home on busy Saturday night to avoid ICE raid, report says

Management at a Kid Rock-themed restaurant and bar in Nashville reportedly rushed non-citizen employees off the premises during the weekend over fears of an impending ICE raid. During the busy Saturday service, non-citizen employees at three restaurants owned by Nashville businessman Steve Smith were told to leave, including Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse, which opened in 2018, Nashville Scene reports. 'We were already understaffed because of the ICE raids throughout the weekend,' an employee at one restaurant told the outlet. "Then, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, our manager came back and told anyone without legal status to go home.' After the alleged request, the employee said there was 'no one in the kitchen to cook the food.' The Independent has contacted the Kid Rock restaurant for comment, as well as the others named in the article, including Honky Tonk Central. A manager at the third restaurant mentioned in the piece, The Diner, declined to comment. The reported fears of a raid came as ICE conducted a weeklong operation in the area, which netted nearly 200 arrests, according to the agency. The alleged known presence of undocumented workers at Kid Rock's restaurant would be at odds with the entertainer's staunch support for Donald Trump and his attempts to crack down on illegal immigration. Kid Rock is a vocal ally of the president and recently appeared at the White House for the signing of an executive order targeting ticket scalpers. Echoing Trump's rhetoric, Kid Rock called immigrants 'murderers' and 'rapists' in a 2024 Rolling Stone interview. It is unclear if Kid Rock owns part of the steakhouse, or merely licenses his name to the business, though he has spoken about being affiliated with the business since before it opened. The Tennessean has described the musician as a partner in the venture. The steakhouse was previously in the headlines in 2020 after being cited for failing to comply with Covid guidelines. Nashville Scene describes Smith as a Trump supporter and donor, and the businessman previously told the outlet he has dined and golfed with Trump.
