Big Brother Big Sisters of Siouxland appoints new executive director
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland will soon have a new executive director. Ciarra Prather will be taking over as executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland (BBBS), as Kristie Arlt will be relocating to Omaha. Prather brings a background in sales, leadership, marketing, public relations, strategic communication, and community engagement into her new role. Some of this experience was fostered here at KCAU 9. 'Originally from Utah and raised in Iowa, I've always felt connected to the values of hard work, integrity, and community,' said Prather. 'I'm honored to lead Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland and look forward to building on the strong foundation Kristie has created.' 15th Annual Bike SUX coming to Sioux City
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Bicyclists from across the Midwest are coming to Siouxland for the 15th annual Bike SUX. According to the press release, the ride will be from Caribou Coffee on Hamilton Boulevard at 9:00 a.m. and will wind up at One Eyed Jacks. Registration and check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. The bike ride began not only to promote cycling in Siouxland, but also to raise money. Each year, Bike SUX raises funds for a different nonprofit in Siouxland. This year, the event is raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland. Sioux City fashion show to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — An inspiring evening of fashion and philanthropy is planned for later this week as part of a spring fashion show in Sioux City. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland is partnering with Rooted Boutique for 'Fashion for a Cause.' The event brings together community members for a stylish celebration in support of local youth mentorship. All proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland, helping to create and support one-on-one mentoring relationships. Spring Re-Event held at the Sioux City Citizen's Convenience Center 'We're so proud to partner with Rooted Boutique,' Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland executive director Kristie Arlt said. 'The women that work here, particularly Emily, they're such generous, loving, giving people, and they've been so good to us over the years. ‘Luau on the Lanes' to raise money for Siouxland nonprofit
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland is inviting the community to come and say 'aloha' as they participate in the nonprofit's annual 'Bowl for Kids' Sake' fundraiser. This year's theme is 'Luau on the Lanes.' Teams are encouraged to bring whatever Hawaiian gear they've got and bowl some strikes for a good cause.
