St. John's Transfer RJ Luis Turns Heads With GPA Under Head Coach Rick Pitino
The St. John's men's basketball team recently capped off one of the program's best seasons in school history, led by head coach Rick Pitino.
Pitino led St. John's to the Big East conference championship, having dominated their way to the NCAA Tournament.

During March Madness, however, the Red Storm came to a halt. They suffered a second-round loss to John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks after defeating Omaha in the Round of 64.
Throughout the season, St. John's was led by RJ Luis Jr.
The standout forward was a star on and off the court. While he shines bright between the white lines, St. John's recently highlighted Luis' academics.
Upon the release of Luis' GPA, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts.
"Great scene for RJ," said one fan.
"Proud of these guys," said another fan.

"St Johns. Obvious grade inflation," said one fan.
"They're the ones that actually went to class," said another fan.

This past season with the St. John's Red Storm, Luis was named the Big East Player of the Year. Luis averaged 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
He was playing in his second season at St. John's, having begun his career at UMass.
Despite all of the success, Luis is currently in the transfer portal.
