Karoline Leavitt says Shedeur Sanders 'facts speak for themselves' after Donald Trump post

Karoline Leavitt has insinuated that the president had a hand in Shedeur Sanders finally being drafted. Donald Trump was not happy to see Shedeur Sanders falling in the NFL Draft as he took to Truth Social during day two to send a firm message to the teams who had passed on him . Sanders' fell down the board and into day three - one of the biggest shocks in draft history after originally being slated as a first-round pick, including by Mirror US Sports . In the fifth-round, the Cleveland Browns traded up with the Seattle Seahawks to select Sanders despite already drafting Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third-round. Trump joined in the debate, furious with Sanders falling into day three and sent a message to the league that he needed to be drafted 'immediately'. Taking to Truth Social, Trump bemoaned: "What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He's also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be "picked" IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!". Sanders would have to wait another day, but was eventually selected in the fifth-round, with a reporter asking Leavitt if Trump is taking credit. Leavitt smiled when replying: "All I will say is the president put out a statement and a few rounds later he was drafted... So I think the facts speak for themselves." Shedeur Sanders had to wait until the fifth round to hear his name called (Image: Photo by) Trump is known to be a close friend of Shedeur's father, Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders... but whether he is close with any decision-makers at the Browns is unknown. Cleveland drafting Sanders felt like a confusing situation at the time though, after already selecting a quarterback while their draft room did not look overly pleased after the pick was confirmed - fuelling rumors that ownership had a hand in the team making the pick rather than the general manager and head coach. **Want to watch more live sports? Highlights of new Bears TE Colston Loveland The Chicago Bears selected Michigan tight end Colston Loveland with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Chicago lands an explosive, dynamic tight end for Ben Johnson's offense and Loveland should become a favorite target of quarterback Caleb Williams. Loveland, 21, was a three-year starter at Michigan, where he was one of their most dangerous weapons and wa sa matchup nightmare. He helped lead the Wolverines to a National Championship in 2023, where he had 45 receptions for 649 yards and four touchdowns. But he also excelled despite poor quarterback play last year, setting career highs in receptions (56) and touchdowns (5) while totaling 582 yards in five less games. Steelers draft DT Derrick Harmon: How he fits, pick grade and scouting intel

The Pittsburgh Steelers have added to their defensive line, selecting Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon with the No. 21 pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. A one-year starter at Oregon, the 21-year-old showed flashes of potential when he first played three years at Michigan State. Harmon started 15 of his 28 appearances over three seasons, totaling 7 1/2 tackles for loss and 3 1/2 sacks as a Spartan. Advertisement Harmon left Michigan State following the dismissal of head coach Mel Tucker, leading him to Oregon. He took a leap with the Ducks, posting a career-best 10 1/2 tackles for loss and five sacks, adding two forced fumbles and three passes defensed. The effort was enough to earn him third-team All-Big Ten. Harmon has the size and strength to get stops in the run game, even when double-teamed. He also has an impressive balance of speed and power for an interior pass rusher. At 6 foot 5 and 315 pounds, his 4.95 40-yard dash was sixth-best among all defensive tackles who ran at the combine. Harmon ranked No. 16 in Dane Brugler's top 300 big board. Here's what Brugler had to say about him in his annual NFL Draft guide: 'A player who can win in different ways, Harmon forces blockers to attack air with his lateral explosiveness or uses strong, crafty hands to swat away the reach of blockers as he bursts through gaps to close on the ball carrier. Though he led FBS interior linemen in pressures, he also led the position in missed tackles (12) — even the smallest improvements in his backfield finishing ability would have resulted in double-digit sacks. Overall, Harmon is a highly active and disruptive big man who consistently finds ways to gain freedom from blocks as a penetrating pass rusher and run stuffer. He projects as a scheme-diverse NFL starter, anywhere from one- to five-tech.' What an anonymous coach had to say about Harmon in Bruce Feldman's mock draft: 'He was the best interior pass rusher we faced this year. He has great length and athleticism. We schemed a lot of things to make sure he didn't get one-on-ones against us. He wasn't as stout in the run game as (Mason) Graham.' Derrick Harmon just ripped this one away for the takeaway 💪 No. 3 @oregonfootball takes over in Ohio State territory.#B1GFootball on NBC 📺 — Big Ten Football (@B1Gfootball) October 13, 2024 Come back for more analysis of Harmon later.

How to watch Man City vs Brighton in US and UK - TV channel, live stream, team news

Manchester City is facing a battle to qualify for the Champions League as a result of its relative struggles this season, and next up for Pep Guardiola's men is a tricky-looking assignment against Brighton. Fabian Hurzeler's men, who have only lost six games all season, have won their last four in the Premier League, and a victory away to City would take them up to fifth in the league standings. A fifth-place finish which will almost certainly be enough to qualify for the Champions League next season. A defeat for City, meanwhile, would see the Etihad Stadium club drop out of the top five, and face a real battle to qualify for Europe's premier club competition next term. The clubs currently placed between fourth and ninth in the league are separated by just five points, so a win for either side would provide a huge boost to the victor's top-five chances.
