EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19 to stream on a Viacom platform in August
There have been a lot of discussions around Colors TV's popular reality show Bigg Boss returning with a new season both on OTT and television. From speculation that it may be nixed due to falling TRPs to a shorter season — Salman Khan-hosted show has constantly been in the news. However, SCREEN has exclusively learned that Bigg Boss is definitely returning. According to our source, Bigg Boss' new season will appear either in the last week of July or early August. Also, meetings are still on internally to decide whether one long season will run, or the team will retain the same old format of OTT, followed by the TV version. The source tells us, 'What is sure is that the show will happen with the Viacom group, mostly on Jio Hotstar, however, clarity on the same is yet to come.' 'As of now, it's not decided if the OTT version will air first or the TV version, it might just happen in the same old way, it has been running all this while,' the source added. It is also said that the teams are considering an OTT-first model for this season, however, there are no confirmations on the show's duration or platform, or even the versions it will appear in. Several media reports suggest that Salman Khan will shoot for the new season's promo by the end of June. Another update doing the rounds about the show is that the makers will go be to a celebs-only format, and the latest addition will not have any social media influencers in the mix. However, no confirmation around the casting has been made yet. The last season of Bigg Boss 18 was won by actor Karanveer Mehra, while Vivian Dsena became the runner-up.

Salman Khan to return with Bigg Boss 19 in July: Report
Salman Khan is set to return with his popular reality show, 'Bigg Boss 19'. As per reports, the show is returning in July and the actor will shoot for the promo at the end of June. This news comes amid reports of an alleged rift between Colors TV and the show's production house, Banijay per Pinkvilla, 'Bigg Boss Season 19' is happening and will now be produced by Endemol Shine India. The upcoming season is expected to deliver all the drama, challenges, and entertainment fans have come to to the excitement, Salman Khan is reportedly believed to return as host. The 59-year-old actor is set to shoot the first promo for 'Bigg Boss 19' by the end of June, with the new season likely to premiere in late July. Other than this, 'Bigg Boss' has also ventured into the digital space, with three OTT seasons released so far. The first season was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. While there was initial skepticism from fans, he eventually won them over with his approach to managing the contestants. Divya Agarwal took home the trophy, while Nishant Bhatt ended up as the runner-up in the debut OTT according to a source, 'Bigg Boss' and 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' may find a new home on Sony due to creative differences between the channel and the production house. Actress Shilpa Shirodkar tests positive for COVID-19
NEW DELHI: Actor Shilpa Shirodkar on Monday said she has tested positive for coronavirus. The actor, known for 1990s films such as 'Bewafa Sanam', 'Khuda Gawah', and 'Gopi Kishan', shared her health update with fans and followers on Instagram. "Hello people! I've been tested Positive for COVID. Stay Safe and wear your masks!" she wrote. Shirodkar's younger sister Namrata Shirodkar commented on her post with a get well soon message. Actors Sonakshi Sinha, Niki Aneja Walia, and Shirodkar's fellow 'Bigg Boss' contestant Chum Darang also wished the actor speedy recovery.

I'm nothing if not Indian: Hina Khan's strong note for trolls 'across the border'
Actor Hina Khan on Saturday shared a powerful note on her Instagram story, hitting back at trolls attacking her for standing by her nation as tensions escalate between India and Pakistan following the barbaric Pahalgam attack on April revealed in the note that people 'across the border' have been 'abusing' her and 'cursing' her, even wishing the worst for her and her family given her medical condition. Khan earlier expressed solidarity with the fellow countrymen, and applauded the Indian Armed Forces to launch Operation Sindoor as a response to the terrorist attack which took 26 innocent lives, mostly tourists, including one Nepalese, in the Baisaran meadow in 37-year-old shared the song 'Bharat humko jaan se pyara hai (We love India more than our own lives...) in the background and began by writing: "All my Life I only saw affection from across the border. I don't expect you to support my country. You support yours that's ok, I don't expect you to understand the nuances beyond the mutual alienations. I only hoped that you will conduct yourself at least as humanly as I have been towards you all (sic)," she former 'Bigg Boss' contestant expressed her love for India. She said people could continue to unfollow her on social media, but that wouldn't stop her from standing by her country and its defence forces. "But I Guess, that's the Difference. I am not Anything if I am not an Indian. I will always be an Indian, First. So, Go Ahead. UNFOLLOW Me. I Don't Care (sic)," she concluded her post with an Indian flag graphic. "I did not abuse or curse any of you.. I only support my country.. What you say defines you. What you choose defines your ideology. How you act in tough times shows your depth as a Human Being.
