This year's season is expected to run for five months. Salman Khan confirmed that for the first time, housemates will hold full authority over decisions inside the Bigg Boss house. However, each decision will carry consequences. The format will shift from 'Bigg Boss Chahte Hai' to 'Bigg Boss Jaanna Chahte Hai,' placing audience involvement at the forefront.
Contestants will be split into two groups — the ruling party and the opposition — and will compete in a weekly 'satta badal' task to decide which team forms the next sarkaar. Viewers will also have a direct role in nominations and other critical decisions.

Fifteen contestants will enter at the start, with three to four wild card entries joining later. Ten participants are already confirmed, with casting aimed at creating high-impact dynamics. Examples include Apoorva Mukhija facing off against The Traitors co-star Purav Jha, and Siwet Tomar competing against Khank Whagnani. Sources describe the casting as the strongest in the last two seasons, designed to eliminate perceptions of bias.
Rumoured names and host involvement
While the final line-up will be revealed on premiere day, rumoured confirmed names include Dheeraj Dhoopar, Sailesh Lodha, Gurucharan Singh, Hunar Gandhi, Mr. Faisu, Dhanashree Verma, Apoorva Mukhija, and Pooja Gamingg. Others in talks are Purav Jha, Nidhi Shah, Jannat Zubair, Hiba Nawab, Sreeram Chandra, and Gaurav Khanna.
It was also reported that The Traitors contestant Elnaaz Norouzi declined an offer of ₹6 crore per week due to film commitments. Salman Khan is expected to be more hands-on in guiding the show this Boss 19 is bringing a structural overhaul with political-style gameplay, direct viewer influence, and strategic contestant matchups.
