CM to inaugurate automated sump houses, lay stone for schemes worth Rs 1,002 crore
1 2 3 Patna: Nine sump houses, equipped with a hi-tech monitoring system using artificial intelligence (AI), will be inaugurated by CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday. He will also lay the foundation stone for 1,327 different schemes under the CM's Comprehensive Urban Development Scheme of Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Buidco) worth Rs 1,002 crore. The nine pumping facilities, having integrated water-level, temperature and vibration sensors — connected to an Integrated Control and Command Centre (ICCC) at Gandhi Maidan — are apart of the drainage pumping automation project at as part of the Smart City Mission . The system provides automatic pump operation control to maintain appropriate water levels. The setup generates notifications to the control centre when abnormal conditions occur, such as excessive water levels or pump malfunctions. The real-time monitoring capability is enabled by water-level sensors. These devices assist in water-level regulation, ensuring timely activation of pumps to prevent waterlogging, particularly during monsoons. This system has been set up at Saidpur, Yogipur, Yogipur NBCC, Eco Park (three), new and old stations at Pahadi and Pahadi NBCC station. A supervisory control and data acquisition system, alongside a control room, has been established at Patna Municipal Corporation's headquarters in Maurya Lok. The installation includes CCTV cameras and displays at all nine sump houses for monitoring station conditions and water levels. This arrangement allows the technical staff to oversee and manage pump operations, facilitating swift responses.
