Video: Activists ‘shielded a killer' in ICE operation near Boston
A group of activists forced Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Boston agents to abandon a surveillance operation at the home of an illegal immigrant suspect wanted for murder after surrounding the agents' vehicle and blowing their cover. Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported that ICE agents were 'surveilling a murderer's home in their car, when a crowd surrounded their vehicle, blew their cover, and they had to pull off the target.' Melugin explained that the incident took place last Thursday in Somerville, Massachusetts, which is near Boston, and that the murderer was located 'close to a school.' READ MORE: Pic: ICE raids CBS News anchor's husband's restaurant in DC 'An activist later posted a video, boasting that they got ICE to leave the area, and that they were 'trying to kidnap kids from school,' Melugin tweeted. 'They shielded a killer.' Following last week's incident, an activist shared a video on social media and appeared to be bragging about stopping ICE's operation in Somerville. 'ICE just tried to abduct a bunch of kids and parents right here at Somerville High School, and so many community members showed up that ICE just left,' the activist said. 'Remember, you are the major power in your community. If you show up with people you trust quickly; you can protect kids, you can protect families. So form information networks, know where ICE is in your community, and show up.' According to Fox News, ICE officials have started to face growing resistance from sanctuary states and cities, as well as various activist groups across the country. The outlet noted that in addition to activists blowing the cover of the ICE agents who were surveilling an illegal immigrant murderer's home, another activist reportedly tried to prevent agents from arresting an illegal immigrant who had been handcuffed by law enforcement officials. Addressing the resistance ICE officials have faced in recent weeks, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia Hyde told Fox News, 'I think the lack of cooperation is getting worse and worse, and it's putting law enforcement lives in danger.' 'We're not going away,' Hyde added. 'It might take us longer. It might be harder, but we're not going away, we're here. We know what the American people voted for. We understand that we work for the American people and we're going to be here until we send everyone home.'

ICE Just Arrested 1,400 People. Here's How Many Had Criminal Charges.
Surprise, surprise: Immigration and Customs Enforcement's biggest operation to date was also a huge failure. Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin reported on X Monday that ICE completed a massive month-long operation in Massachusetts in response to the state's sanctuary policies. Of the 1,461 arrests made as part of Operation Patriot, only 790 individuals—or roughly 54 percent—had criminal convictions or charges. Meanwhile, 277 detainees, or about 19 percent, had received final orders of removal or deportation, though it's unclear whether there was overlap between those two groups. This disastrous sweep comes as the Trump administration sets a new quota of 3,000 ICE arrests per day, and continues to stray from its commitment to target criminals for deportation. Fox reported that many of these arrests were so-called 'collaterals,' a strange euphemism for people whose only crime was being with an ICE target at the time of arrest. Fox said that ICE had repeatedly warned sanctuary city officials that a failure to enforce immigration policies would result in collateral arrests. According to ICE's own numbers, the agency made a minimum 394 wrongful arrests as part of Operation Patriot. Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, a senior fellow at the American Immigration Council wrote in a post on X Monday that this latest ICE sweep was even worse than April's Operation Tidal Wave in Florida, which previously held the record for ICE's largest operation with a whopping 1,120 arrests. 'Wow. Just 54% of all the people arrested during this operation had a criminal record at all. That's an even lower percent than the big Florida operation in April, where 63% had criminal history,' Reichlin-Melnick wrote. 'ICE is expanding its dragnet even more to go after people with no criminal history.' ICE told FOX that Operation Patriot was significantly more difficult due to a lack of cooperation from local officials, and claimed that they'd encountered 'almost daily interference' from activists. But Massachusetts officials say that ICE had failed to communicate with them. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey expressed outrage Monday after an 18-year-old student at Milford High School was arrested by ICE, just days before graduation. 'Yet again, local officials and law enforcement have been left in the dark with no heads up and no answers to their questions,' she said.

ICE begins new, nationwide effort to arrest illegal aliens at immigration hearings
Print Close By Anders Hagstrom, Bill Melugin Published May 22, 2025 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have launched a nationwide initiative to begin arresting illegal immigrants at their immigration and asylum hearings, Fox News has learned. The effort targets illegal immigrants who have been in the U.S. fewer than two years. The DHS strategy is to drop their immigration case, arrest the migrant, then place them into expedited deportation proceedings. The initiative requires the DHS to drop the cases because migrants cannot be put forward for expedited removal if they have a pending case. ICE sources who spoke with Fox News Digital on condition of anonymity say Americans should expect to see "a lot more" of these kinds of arrests. HOUSE GOP TARGETS ANOTHER DEM OFFICIAL ACCUSED OF BLOCKING ICE AMID DELANEY HALL FALLOUT The new policy is likely to lead to a spike in deportations of migrants who have not committed crimes aside from crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. The Trump administration has so far focused its efforts on deporting illegal immigrants who have been convicted of other serious crimes. News of the policy comes as the Department of Homeland Security is in multiple court battles regarding its deportation efforts. A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that the DHS had violated a court order in sending a plane full of eight illegal immigrants to South Sudan this week. U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy ruled that the migrants — all of whom are convicted of crimes ranging from homicide to robbery — were not properly given "credible fear interviews." The interviews allow migrants being deported to a third-party country to argue that being sent there would endanger them. Murphy said he is investigating whether the deportees can conduct their interviews in South Sudan rather than returning to the U.S. immediately. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Murphy previously found that any plans to deport people to Libya without notice would "clearly" violate his ruling regarding third-party deportations, which also applies to people who have otherwise exhausted their legal appeals. Anti-ICE activists disrupt LA operations, post photos, names and phone numbers of agents
Flyers showing the names, pictures, and phone numbers of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have surfaced in a Southern California neighborhood. Multiple federal law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin that anti-ICE activists, who have been interfering with ICE operations in the Los Angeles area in recent days, have now started putting up posters featuring the personal information of ICE and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) officers working in the Los Angeles and Southern California area. The posters, which were written in Spanish, translate roughly to read "CAREFUL WITH THESE FACES." "These armed agents work in Southern California. ICE and HSI racially terrorize and criminalize entire communities with their policies. They kidnap people from their homes and from the streets, separating families and fracturing communities. Many people have died while locked up in jails, prisons, and detention centers," the posters continued. "These individuals will be held accountable for obstructing the law and justice. This shouldn't be controversial." "The FBI safeguards Constitutionally-protected rights, including freedom of speech and assembly. However, any individual who impedes law enforcement operations, potentially threatening the safety of law enforcement agents and subjects of their investigations, is subject to investigation and potential prosecution by the Department of Justice," the spokesperson said. This comes as anti-immigration activists disrupted a planned multi-agency task force operation involving ICE, Drug Enforcement Administration and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on Sunday afternoon.
