Request for extension of last date to send suggestions on Telangana Gig Workers Bill
The last date to submit suggestions or give views on the draft Bill of Telangana Gig and Platform Workers (Registration, Social Security and Welfare) Act, 2025, ended at 5 p.m. Monday (April 28). However, it is learnt that the Labour department received requests to extend the deadline.
The draft bill was placed in the public domain, on the Telangana Labour Department's website The State government intended to bring the Act into force from May 1 — International Labour Day. This might differ if the last date to receive suggestions is extended.
The draft Bill has details on the grievance redressal mechanism, issues that can be raised by the workers, their payment, work hours and other key aspects.
