BioGoats praised for speedy weed control in Saundersfoot churchyard

Calling in the ruminants to tackle overgrown parts of Saundersfoot's St Issell's Church earlier this month was the idea of its guardian, Saundersfoot Community Council. And the eco-friendly and cost-effective solution to garden power tools, chemicals and manpower proved a huge success. The goats were undeterred by the amount of vegetation involved in their challenge. (Image: Saundersfoot Community Council) Not only did the hungry herd do a sterling job reducing ivy, brambles and other vegetation, to restore the area's tidiness and tranquility, but they also completed it in record time. Announcing 'The Goats Have Gone!, Saundersfoot Community Council posted on Facebook: "The goats at St Issell's Cemetery have done such a brilliant job that they finished their shift earlier than expected and have now moved on to their next adventure! The four-legged lawnmowers provided a sterling service in record time. (Image: Saundersfoot Community Council) "There's still a bit of clearing left to do, but we're sure you'll agree — the goats have made a huge difference. "A big thank you to BioGoats2Rent for this fun, eco-friendly and super effective way of tidying things up and to all our amazing Councillors who popped in daily to check the goats had everything they needed. "From here, we'll be carrying on with the final bit of clearing and then working on a plan to keep everything looking neat and lovely long-term. "Well done, goats — and thank you!" This is not the first time that goats have been enlisted for churchyard chomping in Pembrokeshire. In June, they made an appearance in the graveyard at St Andrew's Church, Narberth. They hail from the Clynderwen-based Goats from Biogoats 2 Rent, believed to be the only business of its type in the UK, have already been used to provide an eco-friendly service for Pembrokeshire County Council, the national park, and for other local churches.
