FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Cam Kozeal went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs, and Parker Coil and Landon Beidelschies pitched a combined 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief to lead No. 3 national seed Arkansas past North Dakota State 6-2 in the Fayetteville Regional on Friday. The Razorbacks (44-13), who were knocked out of regionals on their home field in 2023 and '24, improved to 33-4 this season at Baum-Walker Stadium and will play Saturday against the winner between Creighton and Kansas. The Summit League Tournament champion Bison (20-33) meet the Creighton-Kansas loser in an elimination game.

Monsoon: Multi-agency disaster relief exercise held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise was conducted in Bengaluru on Friday as the monsoon season approaches and urban flooding risks increase across the region. "The exercise was led by the Gorkha Battalion under Bison division, working alongside the 10th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force, the State Disaster Response Force, state emergency services, and local civil authorities," a ministry of defence (MoD) release read. The training drills were designed to test emergency response coordination. Jayanagar fire station conducted building evacuation exercises simulating high-density urban disaster scenarios, focusing on structured evacuation procedures, casualty management, and inter-agency coordination. Ulsoor lake served as the venue for flood response operations, demonstrating integrated rescue and relief efforts for water-based emergencies. "The joint exercise aimed to enhance interoperability between military and civilian response forces whilst building operational readiness and mutual trust amongst stakeholders responsible for citizen safety across Bengaluru and surrounding areas," the release read.

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) has announced the second edition of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League (CCPL). The tournament will be held from June 6 to June 15 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Nava Raipur. After a successful inaugural season, which saw seven state players selected in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, the CCPL aims for higher standards this year. The league serves as a platform for emerging cricketing talent in Chhattisgarh. Six teams will participate in the tournament. These include defending champions Raipur Rhinos, led by Amandeep Khare; Bilaspur Bulls, led by Shashank Singh; Bastar Bisons, led by Saurabh Majumdar; Raigarh Lions, led by Rishabh Tiwari; Rajnandgaon Panthers, led by Ajay Mandal; and Surguja Tigers, led by Ashutosh Singh. The CCPL trophy features the state animal, the Bison, symbolising Chhattisgarh's strength, unity, and progress. The trophy was launched in the presence of BCCI Honorary Treasurer Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, CSCS Director Baldeo Singh Bhati, and CSCS President Jubin captains, full squads, and team jerseys for all six franchises were unveiled at a ceremony. For the first time in any domestic league in Central India, the Decision Review System (DRS) will be introduced. This will allow players to challenge on-field umpire decisions, enhancing fairness in the game. An experienced panel of international commentators will provide live commentary.
